Psalms 91

A praise of an ode to David.

91:1The one dwelling in the help of the highest, shall lodge in the protection of the God of the of heaven.

91:2He shall say to the lord, You are my shielder, and my refuge; my God, and I will hope upon him.

91:3For he shall rescue you from out of the snare of hunters, from a disturbing matter.

91:4With his upper back he shall overshadow you, and under his wings you shall hope. He shall encircle you with the shield of his truth.

91:5You shall not be afraid from fear by night, nor from an arrow flying by day,

91:6nor from a thing going in darkness, nor from an adverse incident, and the demon at midday.

91:7A thousand shall fall at your side, and myriads at your right hand; but it shall not approach unto you.

91:8Only with your eyes you shall contemplate; and you shall see the recompense of sinners.

91:9For you, O lord, the one of my hope; you made the highest your refuge.

91:10There shall not come near to you bad things; and the whip shall not approach in your tent.

91:11For to his angels he gives charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.

91:12By hands they will lift you, lest at any time you should stumble your foot against a stone.

91:13You shall set foot upon the asp and cobra; and you shall trample on the lion and dragon.

91:14For he hoped upon me, and I shall rescue him. I will shelter him, for he knew my name.

91:15He shall cry out to me, and I shall heed him. I am with him in affliction. I will rescue him and glorify him.

91:16I will fill him with duration of days, and I will show to him my deliverance.
