Psalms 82

A psalm to Asaph.

82:1God stood in the congregation of gods; and in the midst of gods he examines.

82:2For how long will you judge injustice, and receive persons of sinners?

82:3Judge for the orphan, and the poor! Do justice to the humble and needy!

82:4Deliver the needy and the poor! rescue him from the hand of the sinner!

82:5They did not know, nor perceived. They travel in darkness. All the foundations of the earth shall be shaken.

82:6I said, You are gods, and all sons of the highest.

82:7But you die as men; and fall as one of the rulers.

82:8Rise up, O God, judge the earth! for you shall inherit among all the nations.
