Psalms 71

A psalm to David of the sons of Jonadab, and of the ones originally being taken captive.

71:1Upon you, O lord, I hoped. May I not be disgraced into the eon.

71:2In your righteousness rescue me, and take me! Lean your ear to me and deliver me!

71:3Be to me for a defending God! and for a fortified place to deliver me. For you are my confirmation and my refuge.

71:4O my God, rescue me from the hand of the sinner! from the hand of the one acting unlawfully and doing wrong.

71:5For you are my endurance, O Lord, O lord, the one of my hope from my youth.

71:6From the womb I stayed upon you; from the belly of my mother you are my shelterer. My singing praise is always about you.

71:7I was as it were a miracle to the many; but you are my fortified helper.

71:8Let my mouth be filled of praise! that I may praise in song of your glory; the entire day of your majesty.

71:9You should not throw me away in the time of old age; in the failing of my strength you should not abandon me.

71:10For my enemies spoke against me; and the ones watching out for my life consulted together,

71:11saying, God abandoned him; pursue and overtake him! for there is no one rescuing him.

71:12O my God, you should be not far from me. O my God, take heed to my help!

71:13Let the ones slandering my soul be shamed and fail! Let the ones seeking bad things for me put on shame and remorse!

71:14But I always shall hope upon you, and I will add upon all your praise.

71:15My mouth shall announce your righteousness the entire day; your deliverance, for I did not know writings.

71:16I will enter in the might of the lord. O lord, I will mention your righteousness only.

71:17You taught me, O God, from my youth; and until now I will report your wonders.

71:18Even until old age, and of a senior, O my God, you should not abandon me until whenever I should report your arm to every coming generation;

71:19of your might and of your righteousness, O God, unto the highests, what magnificence you did to me. O God, who is likened to you?

71:20As much as you showed to me -- many afflictions and bad things; but turning, you restored life to me; and from out of the abysses of the earth you led me.

71:21You abounded to me your greatness, and turning you comforted me; and from out of the abysses of the earth again you led me.

71:22For also I will make acknowledgment to you among peoples, O lord; with an instrument for a psalm of your truth, O God. I shall strum to you with the harp, O holy one of Israel.

71:23My lips shall exult whenever I should strum to you, and my soul which you ransomed.

71:24But still also my tongue shall meditate upon your righteousness all the day, whenever the ones seeking bad things for me should be ashamed and should feel remorse.
