Psalms 114

Alleluiah.

114:1In the exodus of Israel from Egypt, of the house of Jacob, from a barbaric people,

114:2Judea became his sanctuary, and Israel his authority.

114:3The sea beheld and fled; the Jordan turned to the rear;

114:4the mountains leaped as rams, and the hills as little lambs of sheep.

114:5What is it with you, O sea, that you fled? and you, O Jordan, that you turned to the rear?

114:6for the mountains leaped as rams, and the hills as little lambs of sheep.

114:7From the presence of the lord the earth was shaken; from the presence of the God of Jacob;

114:8of the one turning the rock into lakes of waters, and the chiseled stone into springs of waters.
