Psalms 97

A psalm to David; when his land is established.

97:1The lord reigned. Exult, O earth! Let many islands be glad!

97:2There is a cloud and dimness round about him; righteousness and judgment are the success of his throne.

97:3Fire shall go forth before him, and it shall blaze round about his enemies.

97:4His lightnings appeared to the inhabitable world; the earth beheld and shook.

97:5The mountains melted away as beeswax from the face of the lord; from the face of the lord of all the earth.

97:6The heavens announced his righteousness; and all the peoples beheld his glory.

97:7All the ones doing obeisance to the carvings were shamed; the ones boasting in their idols. Let all his angels do obeisance to him!

97:8Zion heard and was glad; and the daughters of Judea exulted because of your judgments, O lord.

97:9For you the lord are highest over all the earth -- exceedingly. You were greatly exalted above all the gods.

97:10The ones loving the lord detest evil. The lord guards the souls of his sacred ones. From out of the hand of the sinner he shall rescue them.

97:11Light arose to the just, and gladness to the straight in heart.

97:12The just should be glad in the lord, and make acknowledgment to the remembrance of his holiness.
