Psalms 76

To the director; among the hymns; a psalm to Asaph; an ode to the Assyrian.

76:1God is made known in Judea; in Israel his name is great,

76:2and his place became for peace; and his home is in Zion.

76:3There he broke the might of the bows, the shield, and the broadsword, and war.

76:4You wonderfully give light from the eternal mountains.

76:5All the senseless in the heart were disturbed. All the men of wealth slept their sleep and did not find anything in their hands.

76:6Because of your reproach, O God of Jacob, the ones mounting the horses slumbered.

76:7You are fearful, and who shall oppose you? For how long is your anger?

76:8From out of the heaven you caused judgment to be heard. The earth feared, and was still,

76:9in the rising up for judgment by God, to deliver all the gentle in the earth. PAUSE.

76:10For the inner thought of man shall make acknowledgment to you; and what is left of the inner thought shall solemnize a holiday to you.

76:11Make a vow, and render to the lord our God! All the ones round about him shall bring gifts

76:12to the fearful one and the one removing the spirits of rulers; fearful to the kings of the earth.
