Psalms 62

To the director; for Jeduthun; a psalm to David.

62:1Shall not my soul be submitted to God, for my deliverance is by him?

62:2For even he is my God, and my deliverer, my shielder. In no way should I be shaken by many.

62:3For how long do you put upon a man? You all slaughter as a wall leaning and a fence thrusting through.

62:4But they consulted to thrust away my honor. I ran in thirst; with their mouth blessing, but in their heart they cursed.

62:5But be submitted to God, O my soul! for my endurance is by him.

62:6For he is my God, and my deliverer, my shielder; for in no way should I migrate.

62:7By God is my deliverance, and my glory; the God of my help; and my hope is upon God.

62:8Hope upon him, all you gathering people! pour out before him your hearts! for God is our helper. PAUSE.

62:9But the sons of men are vain; the sons of men are false weights in the yoke balance scales to do wrong. They are of folly all together.

62:10Hope not upon unrighteousness, and long not after a thing seized! If wealth should flow, set not the heart upon it!

62:11Once God spoke, and these two things I heard; that might is of God,

62:12and of you, O lord, is mercy. For you recompense each according to his works.
