Psalms 3

A psalm to David when he ran away from the face of Absalom his son.

3:1O lord, why were the ones afflicting me multiplied? Many rise up against me.

3:2Many say concerning my soul, There is no deliverance to him by his God. PAUSE.

3:3But you, O lord, are my shielder, my glory, and the one raising up my head.

3:4I cried out my voice to the lord, and he heeded me from out of his holy mountain.

3:5And I went to bed and slept. I woke up, for the lord shall assist me.

3:6I shall not fear from ten thousands of people of the ones round about joining in attacking me.

3:7Rise up, O lord! Deliver me, O my God! For you struck all the ones hating me for no cause; you broke the teeth of sinners.

3:8Deliverance is of the lord, and your blessing is upon your people.
