Psalms 129

An ode of the steps.

129:1Many times they waged war against me from my youth -- Let Israel indeed say!

129:2Many times they waged war against me from my youth; and yet they were not able to prevail against me.

129:3The sinners contrived upon my back; they prolonged their lawlessness.

129:4The lord is just; he cut down the necks of sinners.

129:5Let them be shamed, and be turned to the rear! all the ones detesting Zion.

129:6Let them become as grass on roofs! which before being pulled out were dried;

129:7of which the one harvesting did not fill his hand, nor the one collecting together the sheaves unto his bosom,

129:8and the ones passing by said not, The blessing of the lord be upon you; we bless you in the name of the lord.
