Luke 6

6:1And it came to pass on Sabbath following the great one, he traveled through the corn-fields; and his disciples were plucking the ears of corn and were eating them by rubbing in pieces with their hands.

6:2And some of the Pharisees said to them, Why do you do what is not allowed to do on the Sabbaths?

6:3And answering to them Jesus said, Neither this did you read, what David did, when he hungered himself and the ones being with him?

6:4How he entered into the house of God, and the bread loaves of the place setting he took, and he ate, and he gave also to the ones with him, which is not allowed to be eaten except the priests only?

6:5And he said to them that, The son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.

6:6And it came to pass also on another Sabbath for him to enter into the synagogue and to teach. And there was there a man, and his right hand was withered.

6:7And they closely watched him -- the scribes and the Pharisees, to see if he will cure him on the Sabbath, that they should find a charge against him.

6:8But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man, to the one having the withered hand, Arise, and stand in the midst! And he having risen up stood.

6:9Then said Jesus to them, I will ask you, What is allowed to the Sabbaths -- to do good or to do evil? to preserve a soul or to destroy?

6:10And having looked round about on all of them, he said to the man, Stretch out your hand! And he did thus. And his hand was restored in health as the other.

6:11But they were filled with thoughtlessness; and they discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

6:12And it came to pass in those days, he went forth into the mountain to pray; and he was spending the night in the prayer of God.

6:13And when it became day, he called out to his disciples, even choosing from them twelve, whom also he named apostles --

6:14Simon, whom also he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

6:15Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the one being called Zealot,

6:16Judas of James, and Judas Iscariot, who also became the betrayer.

6:17And going down with them, he stopped at a flat place, and a multitude of his disciples, and a great multitude of the people from all Judea, and Jerusalem, and of the coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases,

6:18and the ones being mobbed by unclean spirits; and they were being cured.

6:19And all the multitude sought to touch him, for power by him came forth and healed all.

6:20And he, lifting up his eyes unto his disciples, said, Blessed are the poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.

6:21Blessed are the ones hungering now, for you shall be filled. Blessed are the ones weeping now, for you shall laugh.

6:22Blessed are you whenever men should detest you, and whenever they should separate you, and should berate you, and should cast out your name as wicked, because of the son of man.

6:23Rejoice in that day, and leap! for behold your wage is great in the heaven. For according to these things their fathers did to the prophets.

6:24Furthermore, woe to you, to the rich, for you receive your comfort.

6:25Woe to you, the ones being filled up, for you shall hunger. Woe to you, the ones laughing now, for you shall mourn and weep.

6:26Woe whenever the men should speak well of you, for according to these things their fathers did to the false prophets.

6:27But to you I say, to the ones hearing, Love your enemies! Do well to the ones detesting you!

6:28Bless the ones cursing you! And pray for the ones threatening you!

6:29To the one beating you upon the jaw, furnish also the other! And from the one taking away your cloak, also the inner garment you should not restrain.

6:30And to every one asking you, give! And from the one taking away your things, do not exact payment!

6:31And as you want that men should do to you, you also do to them in like manner!

6:32And if you love the ones loving you, what favor is it to you? for even the sinners love the ones loving them.

6:33And if you should do good for the ones doing you good, what favor is it to you? for even the sinners do the same.

6:34And if you should lend from whom you hope to recover, what favor is it to you? for even sinners lend to sinners, that they should recover what is equal.

6:35Furthermore, love your enemies, and do good, and lend despairing for nothing! and your wage will be great, and you will be sons of the highest. For he is gracious upon the ungracious and wicked.

6:36You become then pitying, as also your father is pitying!

6:37And judge not! and in no way should you be judged. Condemn not! and in no way should you be condemned. Dismiss! and you will be dismissed.

6:38Give! and it shall be given to you! In good measure, being compressed and shaken and overrunning, shall they give unto your bosom. For the same measure which you measure, it will be measured back to you.

6:39And he spoke a parable to them, In anything is the blind able to guide the blind? Shall not both fall into a cistern?

6:40A disciple is not above his teacher; but by fashion every one will be as his teacher.

6:41But why do you see the speck, the one in the eye of your brother, but the beam, the one in your own eye you do not mind?

6:42Or how are you able to say to your brother, O brother, allow me to cast out the speck, the one in your eye, and yourself are not seeing the beam in your eye? Hypocrite, cast out first the beam from your eye, and then you shall see clearly to cast out the speck, the one in the eye of your brother!

6:43For there is not a good tree producing rotten fruit; nor a rotten tree producing good fruit.

6:44For each tree from its own fruit is known. For not from thorn-bushes do they collect figs, nor from a bush do they gather the vintage grape.

6:45The good man from out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth the good thing; and the wicked man from out of the wicked treasure of his heart brings forth the bad; for from the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

6:46And why do you call me, O Lord, O Lord, and do not do what I say?

6:47Every one coming to me, and hearing my words, and doing them, I will show plainly to you what he is likened to.

6:48He is likened to a man building a house, who dug, and deepened, and set a foundation upon the rock. And an inundation having become, the river beat against that house, and was not strong enough to shake it; for it was founded upon the rock.

6:49And the one hearing, and not doing, is likened to a man having built a house upon the ground without the help of a foundation, which the river beat against, and immediately it fell, and the breakup of that house became great.
