Luke 7

7:1And when he fulfilled all his sayings in the hearing of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

7:2And a certain servant of a centurion having an illness, about to come to an end, who was of value to him;

7:3and having heard concerning Jesus, he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him that having come he should preserve his servant.

7:4And the ones having come to Jesus, appealed to him diligently, saying that, The one whom he shall grant this is worthy.

7:5For he loves our nation; and the synagogue he himself built for us.

7:6And Jesus went with them; but already he not being far at a distance from the house, the centurion sent forth friends to him, saying to him, O Lord, be not inconvenienced! for not am I fit that you should enter under my roof.

7:7Therefore not even myself I deem worthy to come to you, but say the word! and my servant shall be healed.

7:8For also I am a man ordering under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go! and he goes; and to another, Come! and he comes; and to my servant, Do this! and he does.

7:9And hearing these things Jesus marveled at him; and turning to the multitude following him said, I say to you, not even in Israel found I so great a belief.

7:10And the ones having been sent forth having returned unto the house, found the weakened servant being in health.

7:11And it came to pass in the next place, he went into a city being called Nain; and going with him were a fit amount of his disciples, and a great multitude.

7:12And as he approached to the gate of the city, that behold, one having died was conveyed, a son, an only child of his mother, and she was a widow; and a multitude of the city, a fit amount was with her.

7:13And beholding her, the Lord was moved with compassion over her, and he said to her, Do not weep!

7:14And coming forward he touched the coffin, and the ones bearing it stopped. And he said, O young man, to you I say, Arise!

7:15And the dead one sat erect, and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.

7:16And fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying that, A great prophet has been risen up among us; and that, God visited his people.

7:17And went forth this word in the whole of Judea concerning him, and in all the place round about.

7:18And his disciples reported to John,, concerning all these things.

7:19And calling on a certain two of his disciples, John sent them forth to Jesus, saying, Are you the coming one, or another should we expect?

7:20And having come to him, the men said, John the baptist has sent us to you, saying, Are you the coming one, or another should we expect?

7:21And in the same hour he cured many from diseases, and scourges, and evil spirits; and to many blind he granted to see.

7:22And answering Jesus said to them, Having gone, report to John what you saw and heard! that blind gained sight, lame walk, lepers are cleansed, deaf-mutes hear, dead are raised, poor are being announced good news;

7:23and blessed is who ever should not be stumbled in me.

7:24And the messengers of John having gone forth, he began to speak to the multitudes concerning John, What have you come forth into the wilderness to view? A reed by the wind being shaken?

7:25But what have you come forth to behold? A man in soft garments being clothed? Behold, the ones in noble clothes and existing in luxury are in the palaces.

7:26But what have you come forth to behold? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more extra a prophet.

7:27This is he concerning of which it has been written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who shall carefully prepare your way before you.

7:28For I say to you, a greater born among women than the prophet John the baptist no one is. But the lesser in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

7:29And all the people having heard, and the tax collectors, justified God, having been immersed in the immersion of John.

7:30But the Pharisees and the legal experts, the counsel of God, disregarded for themselves, not having been immersed by him.

7:31What then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they likened?

7:32They are likened to children, to the ones in the market sitting down, and calling out to one another, and they say, We piped to you, and you danced not; we lamented to you, and you wept not.

7:33For John the baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and you say, He has a demon.

7:34The son of man has come eating and drinking; and you say, Behold, a man glutton, and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.

7:35And wisdom was justified by all her children.

7:36And a certain one of the Pharisees asked him that he should eat with him. And entering into the house of the Pharisee, he reclined.

7:37And behold, a woman in the city, who was a sinner, realizing that he reclined in the house of the Pharisee, carried an alabaster jar of perfumed liquid,

7:38and stationed by his feet behind weeping, began to rain his feet with tears, and with the hair of her head she wiped clean and kissed his feet, and anointed with the perfumed liquid.

7:39And beholding, the Pharisee having invited him, said to himself, saying, If this one was a prophet, he would have known who and what kind of woman she is who touches him, that she is a sinner.

7:40And responding Jesus said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. And he says, Teacher, speak!

7:41There were two debtors to a certain money-lender; the one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

7:42And they not having anything to give back, both he granted pardon. Which then of them, tell, loves him more?

7:43And answering Simon said, I undertake that to whom the more he granted pardon. And he said to him, Rightly you judged.

7:44And having turned to the woman, he said to Simon, You see this woman? I entered into your house, water for my feet you gave not; but she rained tears for my feet, and with the hair of her head wiped clean.

7:45You did not give to me a kiss; but this woman from which time I entered, stopped not kissing my feet.

7:46You anointed not my head with oil; but she with perfumed liquid anointed my feet.

7:47Of which favor, I say to you, her many sins have been forgiven, for she loved much; but to whom little is forgiven, loves little.

7:48And he said to her, The sins of you have been forgiven.

7:49And the ones reclining together with him began to say among themselves, Who is this who even forgives sins?

7:50And he said to the woman, the belief of yours has delivered you, go in peace!
