Acts 13
13:1And there were some in Antioch, according to the assembly being there, prophets and teachers, both Barnabas and Simeon, the one called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, and Manaen a companion of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
13:2And of their officiating to the Lord, and fasting, the holy spirit said, Separate indeed to me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them.
13:3Then fasting and praying, and placing the hands upon them, they dismissed them.
13:4These indeed then having gone forth by the holy spirit, went down unto Seleucia; and from there they sailed away unto Cyprus.
13:5And having come unto Salamis, they announced the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; and they also had John as an assistant.
13:6And having gone through the island as far as Paphos, they found a certain magus, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Barjesus,
13:7which was with the proconsul Sergius Paulus, a discerning man. This one calling on Barnabas and Saul, sought anxiously to hear the word of God.
13:8But Elymas the magus opposed them, (for so is translated his name,) seeking to turn aside the proconsul from the belief.
13:9And Saul, the one also called Paul, being filled of holy spirit, and having gazed at him,
13:10said, O one full of all treachery, and all villainy, O son of the devil, O enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease turning aside the straight ways of the Lord?
13:11And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a time. And immediately there fell upon him a mistiness and darkness; and leading about he sought ones to guide him by hand.
13:12Then the proconsul beholding the thing having taken place, believed, being overwhelmed over the teaching of the Lord.
13:13And having embarked from Paphos, the ones around Paul, they came unto Perga of Pamphylia. And John retreated from them and returned unto Jerusalem.
13:14And they having gone through from Perga, they came into Antioch of Pisidia; and having entered into the synagogue on the day of the Sabbath, they sat.
13:15And after the reading of the law and of the prophets, the chiefs of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Men, brethren, if there is a word in you of comfort to the people, speak!
13:16And Paul having risen up, and waving the hand, said, Men, Israelites, and ones fearing God, hearken!
13:17The God of this people Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people in the sojourn in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm he led them out of it.
13:18And about forty years time he bore with them in the wilderness.
13:19And having demolished seven nations in the land of Canaan, he divided to them their land by lot.
13:20And after these things, about four hundred and fifty years, he gave judges, until Samuel the prophet.
13:21And from there they asked for a king. And God gave to them Saul son of Kis, a man of the tribe of Benjamin -- for forty years.
13:22And having removed him, he raised up to them David for king, to whom also having borne witness he said, I found David the one of Jesse, a man according to my heart, which shall do all my wants.
13:23God from the seed of this one, according to the promise, raised up deliverance to Israel -- a deliverer, Jesus.
13:24Which John having publicly proclaimed before the presence of his entrance, an immersion for repentance to all the people of Israel.
13:25And as John was fulfilling the race, he said, Who do you suspect me to be? I am not he. But behold, comes after me, one of whom I am not worthy to untie the sandal of his feet.
13:26Men, brethren, sons of the race of Abraham, and the ones among you fearing God -- to you the word of this deliverance was sent.
13:27For the ones dwelling in Jerusalem, and their rulers, not having known this one, nor the voices of the prophets being read on every Sabbath, they fulfilled them having judged him.
13:28And not one reason for death having found, they asked Pilate to do away with him.
13:29And as they finished all the things being written concerning him, lowering him from the tree, they put him into a tomb.
13:30But God raised him from the dead,
13:31who appeared for many days to the ones having gone up with him from Galilee unto Jerusalem, who are witnesses of him to the people.
13:32And we announce you good news -- the promise to the fathers taking place,
13:33that this thing God has fulfilled to us their children, having raised up Jesus; and as in the second Psalm it has been written, You are my son, I today have engendered you.
13:34And that he raised him from the dead, no longer to be about to return unto corruption, thus he has spoken that, I will give to you the trustworthy sacred things of David.
13:35Wherefore also in another he says, You shall not give your sacred one to see corruption.
13:36For David indeed having assisted his own generation by the counsel of God, went to sleep, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption.
13:37But the one whom God raised, did not see corruption.
13:38Let it be made known then to you men, brethren, that through this one a release of sins is announced to you,
13:39and from all things of which you were not able in the law of Moses to be justified, in this one every one believing is justified.
13:40Take heed then, that it should not come upon you, the thing being spoken by the prophets,
13:41Behold, O despisers, and wonder and vanish! For a work I work during your days, which in no way should you believe if one should tell you in detail.
13:42And exiting from out of the synagogue of the Jews, the nations appealed to them in the time between the Sabbath to speak to them these things.
13:43And the synagogue being dismissed, many of the Jews and worshiping converts followed Paul and Barnabas; who speaking, persuaded them to continue in the favor of God.
13:44And on the coming Sabbath, nearly all the city gathered to hear the word of God.
13:45But the Jews beholding the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and spoke against the things being spoken by Paul, disputing and blaspheming.
13:46But speaking openly, Paul and Barnabas said, To you it was important first for the word of God to be spoken; but since you thrust it away, and do not judge yourselves worthy of eternal life, behold, we turn unto the nations.
13:47For thus the Lord has given charge to us, saying, I have put you for a light of nations, for you to be for deliverance unto the end of the earth.
13:48And hearing, the nations rejoiced, and glorified the word of the Lord; and as many as were being arranged for life eternal believed.
13:49And the word of the Lord was carried through the entire region.
13:50But the Jews instigated the worshiping women, and the decent and the foremost men of the city; and they roused up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and cast them from their borders.
13:51And they, having shaken off the dust of their feet against them, came unto Iconium.
13:52And the disciples were filled with joy and holy spirit.
