Acts 14

14:1And it came to pass in Iconium, together they entered into the synagogue of the Jews, and spoke thus so as for a great multitude of both Jews and Hellenists to believe.

14:2But the Jews having resisted persuasion, roused up and afflicted the souls of the nations against the brethren.

14:3Then they spent a fit time speaking openly in the Lord, to the bearing witness to the word of his favor, granting signs and miracles to take place through their hands.

14:4And the multitude of the city was split; and some were with the Jews, and some with the apostles.

14:5And as there became a movement by the nations, and also of Jews with their rulers, to insult and to stone them,

14:6being fully conscious, they took refuge in the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the place round about,

14:7and there they were announcing good news.

14:8And a certain man in Lystra, disabled in the feet sat, being lame from the belly of his mother, who at no time walked.

14:9This one heard Paul speaking; who having gazed upon him, and seeing that he had belief, of the one to be delivered,

14:10said with a great voice, Rise upon your feet straight! And he leaped up and walked.

14:11And the multitudes beholding what Paul did, lifted up their voice in Lycaonian, saying, The gods having become like men, are come down to us.

14:12And they called Barnabas -- Dia, and Paul -- Hermes, since he was the one leading by word.

14:13And the priest, the one of Dia, of the one being before their city, having brought bulls and garlands unto the vestibules, with the multitudes, wanted to sacrifice.

14:14And having heard, the apostles Barnabas and Paul, having torn their garments, rushed into the multitude crying,

14:15and saying, Men, why do you do these things? Even we are men having the same passions as you, announcing good news -- for you to turn from these vanities unto the living God, who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all the things in them;

14:16who in the generations passing by allowed all the nations to go by their ways;

14:17though indeed not without his own witness did he allow it, but doing good from heaven to you -- giving rains, and seasons bearing fruit, filling up provision and gladness of our hearts.

14:18And saying these things, the multitudes hardly ceased to not sacrifice to them.

14:19And Jews came from Antioch and Iconium; and having persuaded the multitudes, and having stoned Paul, they dragged him outside the city thinking him to have died.

14:20But the disciples having encircled him, having risen up, he entered into the city. And the next day he went forth with Barnabas unto Derbe.

14:21And having announced good news in that city, and having discipled a fit amount, they returned unto Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch,

14:22staying up the souls of the disciples, appealing to them to adhere to the belief, and saying that, By many afflictions we must enter into the kingdom of God.

14:23And having hand picked for them elders in every assembly, having prayed with fastings, they placed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

14:24And having gone through Pisidia, they came unto Pamphylia.

14:25And having spoken the word in Perga, they went down unto Attalia.

14:26And from there they sailed away unto Antioch, from where they were delivered up to the favor of God, for the work which they fulfilled.

14:27And having arrived, and having gathered together the assembly, they announced as much as God did with them, and that he opened to the nations a door of belief.

14:28And they spent time there, not a little, with the disciples.
