2 Peter 1
1:1Simon Peter, a bondman and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the ones equally honored with us having obtained belief in righteousness of our God and deliverer Jesus Christ.
1:2Favor to you and may peace be multiplied in full knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
1:3as all things to us of his divine power, the things for life and piety, being presented through the full knowledge of the one having called us by glory and virtue,
1:4by which he has presented the things esteemed for us and greatest declarations, that through these you should become partners of divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world by lust.
1:5And for this same reason also, adding all diligence, supply in the belief of yours the virtue, and in the virtue the knowledge,
1:6and in the knowledge the self-control, and in the self-control the endurance, and in the endurance the piety,
1:7and in the piety the brotherly affection, and in the brotherly affection the love!
1:8For these things being in you, and being superabundant, they stand not idle nor unfruitful in the full knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1:9But in whom these things are not at hand is blind, losing sight, having taken forgetfulness of the cleansing of his earlier sins.
1:10Therefore rather, brethren, hurry to make your calling and selection firm! for these things doing, in no way should you fail at some time or other.
1:11For thus richly shall be supplied to you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and deliverer Jesus Christ.
1:12Therefore I shall not neglect to remind you continually concerning these things, though knowing, and being fixed firmly in the truth at hand.
1:13But justly I esteem it, for as long as I am in this tent, to awaken you by recollection;
1:14knowing that the getting rid of my tent is quick, as also our Lord Jesus Christ manifested to me.
1:15But I will hurry also always for you to have after my exodus, the making remembrance of these things.
1:16For not following after discerning fables did we make known to you the power and arrival of our Lord Jesus Christ, but having been spectators of that ones' magnificence.
1:17For having received from God the father honor and glory, such a voice having been brought to him by the majestic glory, saying, This is my son the beloved, in whom I take pleasure in.
1:18And this voice we heard brought from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain.
1:19And we have more firm the prophetic word; which well you do heeding, as a lamp shining forth in a dismal place, until which day should shine through, and the morning star should arise in your hearts.
1:20This first knowing, that every prophecy of scripture does not take place by private explanation.
1:21For not by will of man was prophecy borne at some time or other, but by holy spirit being borne the holy men of God spoke.
