1 Peter 5

5:1Elders, the ones among you, I exhort, I the fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, the one also partner of the about to be revealed glory --

5:2tend the flock of God among you! overseeing, not by compelling, but voluntarily; nor sordidly, but eagerly;

5:3nor as one dominating the lots, but becoming models for the flock.

5:4And at the manifesting of the chief shepherd, you shall carry the unfading crown of glory.

5:5In like manner let the younger ones submit to the older ones! And all adorn humility being submitted one to another! For God resists the proud, but gives favor to the humble.

5:6Be humbled then under the fortified hand of God! that he should exalt you in time;

5:7while casting all your anxiety upon him, for with him there is a care concerning you.

5:8Be sober! Be vigilant! Your opponent the devil walks as a roaring lion seeking whom he should swallow down.

5:9To whom oppose solid in the belief! knowing the same sufferings to the one in the world are being completed by your brotherhood.

5:10But the God of all favor, the one having called us into his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, having suffered a little, may he ready you, support you, strengthen you, found you.

5:11To him be the glory and the might into the eons of the eons. Amen.

5:12Through Silvanus, the trustworthy brother to you, as I consider, a little I wrote, appealing and attesting this to be the true favor of God in which you stand.

5:13She chosen with you in Babylon greets you, and Mark my son.

5:14Greet one another with a kiss of love! Peace to you, to all the ones in Christ Jesus. Amen.
