Psalms 7
A psalm to David which he sang to the lord, because of the words of Cush son of Benjamin.
7:1O lord my God, upon you I hope. Deliver me from all the ones pursuing me, and rescue me!
7:2Lest at any time my soul should be snatched away as by a lion, while there is none being for ransoming nor delivering.
7:3O lord my God, if I did this, if there is injustice in my hands,
7:4if I recompensed to the ones recompensing to me with bad things, may I fall away thus from my enemies empty --
7:5may then the enemy pursue my soul, and may he overtake it; and may he trample my life into the ground; and may my glory be encamped in the dust.
7:6Rise up, O lord, in your anger! Be raised up high in the limits of your enemies! And awaken, O lord my God! in the order in which you gave charge.
7:7And a gathering of peoples shall encircle you; and for this return unto the height!
7:8The lord judges peoples. Judge me, O lord, according to my righteousness! and according to my innocence judge for me!
7:9Finish off entirely indeed the wickedness of sinners! And you shall straighten the just, examining hearts and kidneys, O God, justly.
7:10My help is from God, the one delivering the straight in the heart.
7:11God is a just judge, and strong, and lenient, not bringing on anger each day.
7:12If you should not turn, he will brighten his broadsword. His bow he stretched tight, and he prepared it;
7:13And by it he prepared weapons of death; he brought to completion his arrows for the ones for burning.
7:14Behold, the wicked travails with iniquity; he conceived misery, and gave birth to lawlessness.
7:15He dug up a pit, even he dug it, and he shall fall into a cesspool which he worked.
7:16His misery shall return unto his own head; and his injustice shall come down upon his head.
7:17I shall make acknowledgment to the lord according to his righteousness; and I shall strum to the name of the lord the highest.
