Psalms 47

For the director; a psalm for the sons of Korah.

47:1All the nations -- clap hands! Shout to God with a voice of exultation!

47:2For the lord the highest is dreadful; a great king over all the earth.

47:3He submitted peoples to us, and nations under our feet.

47:4He chose to us the inheritance for us, the beauty of Jacob whom he loved.

47:5God ascended in a shout; the lord with the sound of a trumpet.

47:6Strum to our God! Strum! Strum to our king! Strum!

47:7For the king of all the earth is God. Strum expertly!

47:8God reigns over the nations. God sits upon his holy throne.

47:9Rulers of peoples are brought together with the God of Abraham. For by God the strong ones of the earth were lifted up exceedingly.
