Psalms 22

To the director; for the assistance of the early morning; a psalm to David.

22:1O God, my God, take heed to me! Why did you abandon me? The words of my transgressions are far from my deliverance.

22:2My God, I shall cry out by day, and you do not hear; and by night and it shall not be accounted for thoughtlessness to me.

22:3But you dwell in the holy place, the high praise of Israel.

22:4Upon you our fathers hoped; they hoped, and you rescued them.

22:5To you they cried out, and they were delivered; upon you they hoped, and they were not disgraced.

22:6But I am a worm, and not a man; the scorn of men, and a contemptible thing of people.

22:7All the ones viewing me derided me; they speak with their lips, they shook their head, saying,

22:8He hoped upon the lord, let him rescue him! Let him deliver him! for he desired him.

22:9For you are the one pulling me from the womb; my hope from the breasts of my mother.

22:10I was cast upon you from the womb; from out of the belly of my mother you are my God.

22:11Do not separate from me, for affliction is near, for there is no one helping me.

22:12Many calves surround me; hearty bulls compass me.

22:13They opened their mouths against me, as a lion snatching away and roaring.

22:14As water was poured out, even all my bones were dispersed; my heart became as beeswax melting away in the midst of my belly.

22:15My strength was dried as a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my throat. And to the dust of death you led me.

22:16For many dogs encircled me; the gathering of the ones acting wicked compass me. They dug into my hands and my feet.

22:17They counted out all my bones, and they contemplated and looked upon me.

22:18They divided my garments into parts to themselves; and over my clothes they cast a lot.

22:19But you, O lord, your help should not be far from me; take heed to my assistance!

22:20Rescue my soul from the broadsword, and my only child from the hand of the dog!

22:21Deliver me from the mouth of the lion, and from the horns of the unicorns of my humiliation!

22:22I shall describe your name to my brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.

22:23O ones fearing the lord -- praise him! All together, O seed of Jacob, glorify him! Fear indeed of him all together, O seed of Israel!

22:24For he did not treat with contempt, nor loath the supplication of the poor, nor turned his face from me. And in my crying out to him, he heard me.

22:25My high praise is about you. In the great assembly I shall confess to you. My vows I shall render in the presence of the ones fearing him.

22:26The needy shall eat and shall be filled up; and the ones seeking him shall praise the lord; their hearts shall live into the eon of the eon.

22:27All the ones at the ends of the earth shall remember and shall turn to the lord; and all the families of the nations shall do obeisance before him.

22:28For of the lord is the kingdom; and he is master of the nations.

22:29All the hearty of the earth ate and did obeisance; all the ones going down into the earth fell down before him. And my soul lives for him.

22:30And my seed shall serve to him. The generation coming shall be announced to the lord.

22:31And they shall announce his righteousness to a people, to the one being born, whom the lord made.
