Psalms 127

An ode of the steps.

127:1Unless the lord built the house, the builders tired in vain. Unless the lord guarded the city, the one guarding stayed awake in vain.

127:2For it is vain for you to rise up early; you arise after sitting down, O ones eating the bread of grief, whenever he should give sleep to his beloved ones.

127:3Behold, the inheritance of the lord, O sons, the wage of the fruit of the womb.

127:4As arrows in the hand of the mighty, so are the sons of the ones being shaken off.

127:5Blessed is the one who shall fill his desire with them; they shall not be disgraced whenever they should speak to his enemies at the gates.
