Proverbs 14

14:1Wise women build houses; but the foolish razes her house by her hands.

14:2The one going rightly fears the lord; but the crooked one shall be dishonored in his ways.

14:3From out of the mouth of fools is a staff of insult; but the lips of the wise keep them.

14:4Where there are no oxen, the stables are clean; and where there is much produce, the strength of the ox is apparent.

14:5A trustworthy witness does not lie; but a lying witness kindles unjust acts.

14:6You shall seek wisdom with bad men, and you shall not find it; but good sense from the intelligent is easily managed.

14:7All things are adverse to a foolish man; but wise lips are shields for good sense.

14:8The wisdom of the astute will realize their ways; but the thoughtlessness of fools leads unto delusion.

14:9The houses of lawbreakers shall owe cleansing; but the houses of the just are acceptable.

14:10The heart of a man is sensitive of his soul's distress; but whenever he should be glad, he shall not intermix insult.

14:11The houses of the impious shall be obliterated; but the tents of the ones keeping straight shall stand.

14:12There is a way which seems to be straight by men, but the finalities of it come into the lower branch of Hades.

14:13Distress does not mingle with gladness; and the finality of joy comes into mourning.

14:14The bold-hearted shall be filled with his own ways; and a good man with his thoughts.

14:15The guileless believe every word; but the astute one comes to repentance.

14:16A wise man, fearing, turns aside from evil; but the fool, yielding to himself, mixes in with the lawless one.

14:17A man quick to rage acts with thoughtlessness; but an intelligent man endures many things.

14:18Fools shall portion evil; but the astute shall hold to good sense.

14:19Evil men shall slip before good men; and the impious will attend the doors of the just.

14:20Friends shall detest poor friends; but friends of the rich are many.

14:21The one dishonoring the needy sins; but the one showing mercy on the poor is most blessed.

14:22The ones wandering contrive evils; but mercy and truth are contrived by the good. The fabricators of evils do not have knowledge of mercy and trust; but charity and trust are by good fabricators.

14:23With every one having concern there is extra; but the pleasure-bent and unfeeling will be with lack.

14:24The crown of the wise is their riches; but the pastime of fools is evil.

14:25A trustworthy witness shall rescue a soul from evils; but a deceitful man kindles lying.

14:26In the fear of the lord hope is strength; and to his children he leaves a support.

14:27The order of the lord is a spring of life, and it causes one to turn aside from the snare of death.

14:28Glory of a king is in an abundant nation; but in a wanting people there is destruction of a mighty one.

14:29A lenient man is abundant in intelligence; but the faint-hearted is strongly foolish.

14:30A gentle-minded man is a healer of the heart; but a sensitive heart is a moth for the bones.

14:31The one extorting the needy provokes the one making him; but the one esteeming him shows mercy on the poor.

14:32The impious shall be thrust away in his evil; the one complying in his own sacredness is just.

14:33Wisdom rests in the heart of a good man; but in the heart of fools it is not determined.

14:34Righteousness raises up high a nation; but sins lessen tribes.

14:35An intelligent officer is acceptable to a king; and by his own versatility he removes dishonor.
