Mark 9

9:1And he said to them, Amen I say to you that, There are some of the ones here standing, the ones who in no way shall taste of death, until whenever they should behold the kingdom of God coming in power.

9:2And after six days Jesus took to himself Peter, and James, and John, and brought them into a high mountain in private alone. And he was transformed in front of them.

9:3And his garments became shining, exceedingly white as snow, such as a fuller upon the earth is not able to whiten.

9:4And Elijah with Moses appeared to them, and they were conversing together with Jesus.

9:5And responding Peter says to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and we should make three tents; for you one, and Moses one, and Elijah one;

9:6for he knew not what he shall speak, for they were frightened.

9:7And there became a cloud overshadowing them; and came a voice from out of the cloud, saying, This is my son the beloved, hear him!

9:8And suddenly having looked round about, no longer they beheld anyone, but Jesus alone with themselves.

9:9And of their going down from the mountain, he gave warning to them that to no one should they describe what they saw, except whenever the son of man should be raised up from the dead.

9:10And the matter they kept to themselves, debating what is the thing -- to rise up from the dead?

9:11And they asked him, saying that, The scribes say that it is necessary for Elijah to come first.

9:12And he answering said to them, Elijah indeed having come first restores all things; and how it has been written about the son of man, that many things he should suffer, and should be treated with contempt.

9:13And I say to you, that also Elijah has come, and they did to him as much as they wanted, as it was written of him.

9:14And having come to the disciples, he beheld a great multitude around them, and scribes debating with them.

9:15And immediately all the multitude beholding him were astonished, and were running up to greet him.

9:16And he asked the scribes, What do you debate with them?

9:17And answering one from out of the multitude said, Teacher, I brought my son to you, having a speechless spirit.

9:18And where ever he should be overtaken it tears him, and he foams, and grinds his teeth, and he withers. And I spoke to your disciples that they should cast it out, and they prevailed not.

9:19And answering to him, he says, O unbelieving generation, for how long will I be to you? For how long shall I endure you? Bring him to me!

9:20And they brought him to him. And beholding him, immediately the spirit threw him into a spasm; and having fallen upon the ground he rolled foaming.

9:21And he asked his father, How long a time is it that this has happened to him? And he said, From childhood.

9:22And often it threw him both into the fire and into waters, that it should destroy him; but if any way you are able, help us! be moved with compassion upon us!

9:23And Jesus said to him, The thing, if you are able to believe-- all things are possible to the one trusting.

9:24And immediately the father of the child crying out with tears said, I believe, O Lord, help my unbelief!

9:25And Jesus beholding that the multitude ran together, he reproached the unclean spirit, saying to it, O spirit, speechless and mute, I give orders to you, Come forth out of him! and no longer should you enter into him.

9:26And having cried out, and greatly throwing him into a spasm, it came forth; and he became as dead; so as for many to say that he died.

9:27And Jesus having held him by the hand, raised him; and he rose up.

9:28And in his entering into the house, his disciples responded to him in private that, We were not able to cast it out

9:29And he said to them, This kind by nothing is able to come forth, except by prayer and fasting.

9:30And from there having gone forth they passed through Galilee, and he did not want that any should know.

9:31For he taught his disciples, and said to them that, The son of man is delivered up unto the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and having been killed, the third day he shall rise up.

9:32But they knew not the saying, and feared to ask him.

9:33And he came into Capernaum. And being in the house he asked them, What were you reasoning in the way among yourselves?

9:34And they were silent; for with one another they were reasoning in the way, who was greater.

9:35And sitting down, he called the twelve, and he says to them, If anyone wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.

9:36And having taken a child, he set it in the midst of them; and having embraced it, he said to them,

9:37Who ever should receive one of such children in my name, receives me; and who ever should receive me, receives not me, but the one having sent me.

9:38And John responded to him, saying, Teacher, we beheld a certain one in your name casting out demons, who does not follow us; and we restrained him, for he does not follow us.

9:39And Jesus said, Do not restrain him! For there is no one who shall do a work of power in my name, and be able to quickly speak evil of me.

9:40For he who is not against us, is for us.

9:41For who ever should give you a drink of a cup of water in my name, for you are of Christ, amen I say to you, in no way should he lose his wage.

9:42And whoever should cause to stumble one of the little ones trusting in me, it is good to him rather if a mill stone encompass around his neck, and to be thrown into the sea.

9:43And if your hand should cause you to stumble, cut it off! It is good to you to enter crippled into life, rather than having two hands to go forth into Gehenna, into the inextinguishable fire,

9:44where their worm does not come to an end, and the fire is not extinguished.

9:45And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off! It is good to you to enter into life lame, rather than having two feet to be thrown into Gehenna, into the inextinguishable fire,

9:46where their worm does not come to an end, and the fire is not extinguished.

9:47And if your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out! For it is good to you to enter one-eyed into the kingdom of God, rather than having two eyes to be thrown into the Gehenna of fire,

9:48where their worm does not come to an end, and the fire is not extinguished.

9:49For all shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

9:50The salt is good; but if the salt becomes insipid, by what means shall you season? Have salt in yourselves, and make peace with one another!
