Jonah 3

3:1And came to pass the word of the lord to Jonah the second time, saying,

3:2Rise up, go unto Nineveh the great city! and proclaim in it! according to the proclamation which I spoke to you before.

3:3And Jonah rose up, and went into Nineveh as the lord spoke. And Nineveh was a great city to God, as the goings of a journey of three days.

3:4And Jonah began to go into the city, as the going of one day. And he proclaimed and said, Yet three days, and Nineveh shall be eradicated.

3:5And the men of Nineveh believed in God, and they proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloths, from their great unto their small.

3:6And the word approached to the king of Nineveh. And he rose up from his throne, and he removed his apparel from himself, and he wore sackcloth, and sat upon ashes.

3:7And it was proclaimed and was spoken in Nineveh by the king, and by his great men, saying, The men, and the cattle, and the oxen, and the sheep -- let them not taste, nor feed, and let them not drink water!

3:8And the men and the cattle put around sackcloths. And they yelled out to God fervently. And each turned from their wicked way, and from the iniquity in their hands, saying,

3:9Who knows if God shall change his mind, and he shall turn from the anger of his rage, and in no way should we perish?

3:10And God saw their works, that they turned from their wicked ways; and God changed his mind over the evil which he spoke to do to them; and he did not do it.
