John 16
16:1These things I have spoken to you, that you should not be caused to stumble.
16:2From out of the synagogue they shall put you; and there comes the hour that every one killing you think he offers service to God.
16:3And these things they shall do, for they know not the father, nor me.
16:4But these things I have spoken to you, that whenever the hour should come, you should remember them, that I spoke to you. But these things I said not to you at the beginning, for I was with you.
16:5But now I go away to the one having sent me, and not one of you asks me, Where do you go?
16:6But because these things I have spoken to you, distress has filled your heart.
16:7But I speak to you the truth; it is advantageous to you that I go forth. For if I should not go forth, the comforter shall not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
16:8And having come, that one will reprove the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.
16:9Concerning sin then, that they believe not in me.
16:10And concerning righteousness, that to my father I go away, and no longer you view me.
16:11And concerning judgment, for the ruler of this world has been judged.
16:12Still many things I have to say to you, but you are not able to bear them just now.
16:13But whenever that one should come, the spirit of the truth, he will guide you into all the truth; for he shall not speak from himself; but as much as whatever he should hear, he shall speak; and the things coming he shall announce to you.
16:14That one will glorify me; for of mine he shall take, and shall announce to you.
16:15All as much as the father has is mine. On account of this I said that, Of mine he takes, and shall announce to you.
16:16A little while, and you shall not view me; and again a little while and you shall see me, for I go away to the father.
16:17Said then some of his disciples to one another, What is this which he says to us, A little while, and you will not see me; and again a little while, and you shall see me; and, For I go away to the father?
16:18They said then, What is this which he says, the, Little while? We do not know what he speaks.
16:19Jesus knew then that they wanted to ask him, and he said to them, Concerning this do you seek with one another, that I said, A little while, and you shall not view me; and again a little while, and you shall view me?
16:20Amen, amen, I say to you that, You will weep and wail, but the world will rejoice; and you will be distressed, but your distress will become for joy.
16:21The woman whenever she should give birth has distress, for her hour came; but whenever she should bear the child, no longer does she remember the affliction, on account of the joy, that a man was born into the world.
16:22And you then indeed now have distress; but again I shall see you, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one shall take from you.
16:23And in that day you shall ask me nothing. Amen, amen, I say to you that, Whatever as much as you should ask the father in my name, he will give to you.
16:24Until now you asked not anything in my name; ask and you shall receive, that your joy should be filled!
16:25These things in proverbs I have spoken to you; comes the hour when no longer in proverbs shall I speak to you, but I will announce to you concerning the father in an open manner.
16:26In that day you shall ask in my name; and I say not to you that I will ask the father concerning you;
16:27for the father himself is fond of you, for you are fond of me, and you have believed that I have come forth from God;
16:28I came forth from the father, and I have come into the world; again I leave the world, and I go to the father.
16:29His disciples say to him, See, now in an open manner you speak, and not one proverb do you say!
16:30Now we know that you know all things, and you have no need that anyone should ask you. In this we believe that you came forth from God.
16:31Jesus responded to them, Now you believe?
16:32Behold, there comes an hour, and now has come, that you will be dispersed each unto his own place, and you shall leave me alone; and I am not alone, for the father is with me.
16:33These things I have spoken to you, that in me you should have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation; but be of courage! I have overcome the world.
