Ezra 1

1:1And in the first year of Cyrus king of the Persians, to initiate the word of the lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, the lord awakened the spirit of Cyrus king of the Persians. And he exhorted by a report in all his kingdom, and indeed in writing, saying,

1:2Thus said Cyrus the king of the Persians, All the kingdoms of the earth the lord God of heaven gave to me. And he looked upon me to build to him a house in Jerusalem, the one in Judea.

1:3Who is there among you of all his people, and his God will be with him? Then let him ascend unto Jerusalem in Judea! And let him build the house of the God of Israel! He is the God in Jerusalem.

1:4And every Jew being left from all the places of which he sojourned there, the men of his place shall take up for him silver and gold, and with belongings, and cattle, with the voluntary offering for the house of God, the one in Jerusalem.

1:5And rose up the rulers of the families of Judah, and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites -- all which God awakened their spirit to ascend to build the house of the lord, the one in Jerusalem.

1:6And all the ones round about them strengthened their hands with items of silver, with gold, and with belongings, and with cattle, and with gifts, besides the ones with voluntary offerings.

1:7And king Cyrus brought forth the items of the house of the lord which Nebuchadnezzar took from Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his god.

1:8And Cyrus the king of the Persians brought them out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and he counted them out to Sheshbazzar the ruler of Judah.

1:9And this is their number -- wine-coolers of gold -- thirty, and wine-coolers of silver -- a thousand, knives for altering -- nine and twenty, basins of gold -- thirty,

1:10and double items made of silver -- four hundred and ten, and other items -- a thousand.

1:11All the items of gold and of silver -- five thousand four hundred. The whole amount Sheshbazzar led up with the resettlement ascending out of Babylon into Jerusalem.
