2 Chronicles 1

1:1And Solomon son of David grew in strength over his kingdom, and the lord his God was with him, and magnified him in stature.

1:2And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the commanders of thousands, and to the commanders of hundreds, and to the judges, and to all the rulers before all Israel, to the rulers of the families.

1:3And Solomon went out and all the assembly with him unto the high place in Gibeon, of which the tent of the testimony of God was located, which Moses the servant of the lord made in the wilderness.

1:4But David brought the ark of God from out of the city of Kirjath Jearim, for David prepared for it; for he pitched a tent for it in Jerusalem.

1:5And the altar of brass which Bezaleel son of Uri son of Hur made was there before the tent of the lord. And Solomon and the assembly sought by it.

1:6And Solomon offered there upon the altar, the one of brass, the one before the lord, the one in the tent of the testimony. And he offered upon it a thousand whole burnt-offerings.

1:7In that night God appeared to Solomon, and he said to him, Ask what I shall give to you!

1:8And Solomon said to God, You performed with David my father a great act of kindness, and gave me reign instead of him.

1:9And now, O lord God, let your word be trustworthy with David my father! For you gave me reign over a people vast as the dust of the earth.

1:10Now give to me wisdom and understanding! and I shall go forth before this people and enter in. For who shall judge this your great people?

1:11And God said to Solomon, Because this happened in your heart, and you did not ask wealth of things, nor glory, nor the life of the ones detesting you, and you did not ask for many days; but you asked for yourself wisdom and understanding, so as to judge my people, over whom I gave you to reign over it --

1:12the wisdom and the understanding I give to you; and wealth, and possessions, and glory I shall give to you, as did not happen likened unto you among the kings before you, and it will not be thus after you.

1:13And Solomon came from Bama, of the one in Gibeon, unto Jerusalem, from the face of the tent of the testimony; and he reigned over Israel.

1:14And Solomon brought together chariots and horsemen; and there were to him a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. And he left them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.

1:15And the king established silver and gold in Jerusalem as the stones; and the cedars in Judea as sycamine trees, the ones in the plains in multitude.

1:16And there was an exodus of the horses to Solomon from Egypt, and they were bought by the value of the merchants of the king to go forth.

1:17And they ascended and brought from out of Egypt one chariot for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for fifty and a hundred. And thus to all the kings of the Hittites, and to the kings of Syria, they brought them forth by their hands.
