Acts 4
4:1And of their speaking to the people, the priests stood by them, and the commandant of the temple, and the Sadducees,
4:2being worked up because of their teaching the people, and announcing in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.
4:3And they put upon them the hands, and put them in keep until the morrow; for it was evening already.
4:4But many of the ones hearing the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
4:5And it came to pass on the morrow, their rulers gathered together, and elders, and scribes in Jerusalem,
4:6and Annas the chief priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family of the chief priest.
4:7And having stood them in the midst, they inquired, By what power, or in whose name do you this?
4:8Then Peter, filled of holy spirit, said to them, Rulers of the people, and elders of Israel.
4:9If we today are questioned about a good work of the infirm man, by how this one was delivered;
4:10let it be made known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by this one this man stands before you in health.
4:11This one is the stone being treated with contempt by you the ones building, the one becoming for head of the corner.
4:12And there is not deliverance in no one other; for neither is there another name under heaven being given to men by which we must be delivered.
4:13And viewing the open manner of Peter and John, and taking it in that they are illiterate men and common people, they marvelled; and they recognized them, that they were with Jesus.
4:14But seeing the man with them standing, the one having been cured, they had nothing to contradict.
4:15And having bid them to go forth outside the sanhedrin, they engaged with one another,
4:16saying, What shall we do to these men? For indeed a known sign having taken place through them is apparent to all the ones dwelling in Jerusalem; and we are not able to deny it.
4:17But that it should not be spread unto more among the people, with intimidation we should press upon them, to no longer speak in this name to not one of men.
4:18And having called them, they summoned them to not utter a sound altogether nor to teach in the name of Jesus.
4:19But Peter and John answering to them said, If it is just before God to hearken to you rather than God, you judge!
4:20For we are not able what we know and hear to not speak.
4:21And the one adding threats released them, finding nothing how they shall punish them, on account of the people. For all glorified God over the thing having taken place.
4:22For the man was more than forty years old upon which had taken place this sign of healing.
4:23And having been released, they came to their own, and reported as much as the chief priests and the elders said to them.
4:24And having heard, with one accord they lifted a voice to God, and said, O Master, you are God, the one making the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all the things in them;
4:25the one having spoken through the mouth of David your servant, Why do nations neigh, and peoples meditate upon vain things?
4:26The kings of the earth stood, and the rulers gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
4:27For they gathered together in truth against the holy one, your servant Jesus, whom you anointed -- both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with nations, and peoples of Israel,
4:28to do as much as your hand and your counsel predefined to take place.
4:29And at present, O Lord, look upon their intimidations, and grant to your servants with every open manner to speak your word!
4:30in the thing you stretching out your hand for healing; and signs and miracles to take place through the name of your holy servant Jesus.
4:31And in their beseeching the place in which they were being gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled of holy spirit, and they spoke the word of God with confidence.
4:32And the multitude of the ones believing was of one heart and soul; and not even one said anything existing to him to be his own; but all things were in common to them.
4:33And with great power the apostles rendered testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus; and great favor was upon all of them.
4:34For neither anyone lacking existed among them; for as many as were owners of places or houses existing to them, by selling they brought the value of the things being sold,
4:35and they put it by the feet of the apostles; and it was distributed to each in so far as any should have need.
4:36And Joses, the one being called Barnabas by the apostles, (which is, being translated, Son of Comfort), a Levite, a Cypriot by race,
4:37having sold a field existing to him, brought the thing, and put it by the feet of the apostles.
