1 Chronicles 14
14:1And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, and fabricators of walls, and fabricators of woods, to build for him a house.
14:2And David knew that the lord prepared him for king over Israel, for his kingdom grew in stature because of his people Israel.
14:3And David took still more wives in Jerusalem. And were born to David again sons and daughters.
14:4And these are their names of the ones being born to him in Jerusalem -- Shammua and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
14:5and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
14:6and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
14:7and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
14:8And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, and all the Philistines ascended to seek David. And David heard, and came forth to meet them.
14:9And the Philistines came and assembled for battle in the valley of the giants.
14:10And David asked through God, saying, Shall I ascend against the Philistines? and will you give them into my hands? And the lord said to him, Ascend! and I will give them into your hands.
14:11And he ascended into Baal Perazim. And David struck them there. And David said, God cut through my enemies by my hand as a severance of water. On account of this he called the name of that place -- Severance of Baal Perazim.
14:12And the Philistines abandoned there their gods. And David spoke, and they were set on fire with fire.
14:13And the Philistines proceeded yet again, and assembled for battle again in the valley of the giants.
14:14And David asked again to God. And God said to him, Do not go after them! turn from them, and come to them near the pear trees!
14:15And it will be in your hearing the sound of the rumbling of them in the tips of the pear trees, then you shall enter into the battle, for God went forth before you to strike the camp of the Philistines.
14:16And David did as God gave charge to him. And he struck the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon unto Gezer.
14:17And the name of David went out in all the lands; and the lord put the fear of him upon all the nations.
