Matthew 11

11:1And it came to pass when Jesus finished setting in order his twelve disciples, he crossed over from there to teach and to proclaim in their cities.

11:2And John having heard in the jail the works of the Christ, having sent two of his disciples,

11:3he said to him, Are you the coming one, or are we expecting another?

11:4And answering Jesus said to them, Having gone report to John what you hear and see!

11:5the blind look up, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and deaf-mutes hear; dead are raised, and poor are announced good news.

11:6And blessed is who ever should not be offended in me.

11:7And these having gone, Jesus began to say to the multitudes concerning John, What did you come forth into the wilderness to see? a reed being shaken by the wind?

11:8But what did you come forth to behold? a man being clothed in soft garments? Behold, the ones wearing soft garments are in the houses of the palaces.

11:9But what did you come forth to behold? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more extra of a prophet.

11:10For this it is concerning of whom it has been written, Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who shall carefully prepare your way before you.

11:11Amen I say to you, There has not been arisen among ones born of women greater than John the Baptist; but the lesser in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.

11:12And from the days of John the Baptist until just now the kingdom of the heavens is forced, and is snatched by assailants.

11:13For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

11:14And if you want to receive, he is Elijah, the one being about to come.

11:15The one having ears to hear, let him hear!

11:16But what shall I liken this generation? It is likened to boys in a market sitting down and calling out to their companions.

11:17And they say, We piped for you, and you did not dance; we wailed for you, and you did not beat your chest.

11:18For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon.

11:19The son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, the man is a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners. And wisdom was justified by her children.

11:20Then he began to berate the cities in which took place the most of his works of power, for they did not repent.

11:21Woe to you, Chorazin, woe to you, Bethsaida, For if in Tyre and Sidon took place the works of powers having taken place in you, earlier indeed in sackcloth and ashes they would have repented.

11:22Only I say to you, It will be more endurable to Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than to you.

11:23And you, Capernaum, the place raised up high unto the heaven, unto Hades you shall be brought down; for if in Sodom took place the works of power, the ones taking place in you, they would have remained until today.

11:24Only I say to you that It will be more endurable to the land of Sodom in day of judgment, than to you.

11:25In that time Jesus responding said, I make acknowledgment to you, father, O Lord of the heaven and the earth, that you concealed these things from the wise and discerning, and uncovered them to simple ones.

11:26Yes, O father, for so it was benevolent before you.

11:27All things to me were delivered up by my father. And no one recognizes the son, were it not for the father. Not even any recognizes the father, were it not for the son, and to whom ever the son should will to reveal.

11:28Come to me all ones tiring and being loaded down, and I will cause you rest!

11:29Lift my yoke upon you, and learn from me! for I am gentle and humble in the heart, and you shall find rest for your souls.

11:30For my yoke is gracious, and my load is light.
