Luke 15

15:1And were approaching to him all the tax collectors and the sinners to hear him.

15:2And the Pharisees and the scribes complained, saying that, This one favorably receives sinners, and eats with them.

15:3And he spoke to them this parable, saying,

15:4What man of you, having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, leaves not the ninety nine in the wilderness, and goes after the one being lost, until he should find it?

15:5And having found, he places it upon his own shoulders, rejoicing.

15:6And having come unto the house, he calls together the friends and the neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice along with me! for I found my sheep, the one being lost.

15:7I say to you that thus there will be joy in the heaven over one sinner repenting, than over ninety nine just ones who have no need for repentance.

15:8Or what woman having ten drachmas, if she should lose one drachma, does not light a lamp, and sweeps the house, and seeks carefully until whenever she should find it?

15:9And having found, she calls together the friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice along with me! for I found the drachma which I lost.

15:10Thus I say to you, joy takes place before the angels of God over one sinner repenting.

15:11And he said, A certain man had two sons.

15:12And the younger of them said to the father, O father, give to me the assigned part of the wealth. And he divided to them the livelihood.

15:13And after not many days the younger son having gathered all, traveled abroad unto a place afar, and there dispersed his wealth living carnally.

15:14And he spending all, there became a strong famine in that place; and he began to fail.

15:15And having gone, he cleaved to one of the citizens of that place; and he sent him forth into his field to graze swine.

15:16And he was desiring to fill his belly from the husks which the swine were eating, and no one gave to him.

15:17And having come to himself, he said, How many hirelings of my father abound of bread loaves, but I with hunger perish?

15:18Having risen up, I will go to my father, and I will say to him, O father, I sinned unto the heaven, and before you;

15:19and no longer am I worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hirelings!

15:20And having risen up, he went to his father. And still he being far at a distance, his father beheld him, and was moved with compassion, and running fell upon his neck, and kissed him.

15:21And the son said to him, O father, I sinned unto the heaven, and before you, and no longer am I worthy to be called your son.

15:22But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the foremost apparel, and put it on him! And give a ring for his hand, and sandals for the feet!

15:23And having brought the well fed calf, sacrifice it! and eating we should be merry;

15:24for this my son was dead, and is revived; and he was lost, and was found. And they began to be merry.

15:25And his elder son was in the field. And as he approached coming to the house, he heard the harmony of sound and dancers.

15:26And having called on one of the servants, he inquired about what these things may be.

15:27And he said to him that, Your brother is come, and your father sacrificed the well fed calf; for being in health he recovered him.

15:28And he was provoked to anger, and did not want to enter. Then his father having come forth comforted him.

15:29And responding he said to the father, Behold, so many years I served you, and at no time passed by your command; and to me at no time did you give a kid, that with my friends I should be glad.

15:30And when this your son, the one devouring your livelihood with harlots, came, you sacrificed for him the well fed calf.

15:31And he said to him, Child, you at all times are with me; and all the things of mine are yours.

15:32But to be merry and rejoice is necessary; for this your brother was dead, and is revived; and he was lost, and is found.
