Luke 10

10:1And after these things, the Lord made manifest even another seventy, and sent them by two before his face into every city and place where he was about to come.

10:2Then he said to them, Indeed the harvest is great, but the workers few; beseech then the Lord of the harvest! that he should put workers into his harvest.

10:3Go! behold, I send you as lambs in the midst of wolves.

10:4Do not bear a bag, nor provision, nor sandals! and no one in the way should you greet.

10:5And into which ever house you should enter, first say! Peace to this house.

10:6And if there might be there a son of peace, your peace shall rest upon him; but if not, unto you it shall return.

10:7And in the same house abide! eating and drinking the things of theirs; for the worker is worthy of his wage! Do not cross over from house to house!

10:8And into what ever city you should enter, and they should receive you, eat the things being placed near to you!

10:9And attend to the weak in it! and say to them! The kingdom of God approaches unto you.

10:10And into which ever city you should enter, and they should not receive you, having gone forth into its square, you say!

10:11Even the dust cleaving to us from your city we wipe off against you. Except know this! that the kingdom of God has approached unto you.

10:12But I say to you that, in that day it will be more endurable to Sodom than to that city.

10:13Woe to you Chorazin. Woe to you Bethsaida. for if in Tyre and Sidon took place the works of power which took place in you, even earlier they would have repented sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

10:14Furthermore to Tyre and Sidon it will be more endurable in the judgment, than for you.

10:15And you, Capernaum, the one having been raised up high unto the heaven; unto Hades you shall be brought down.

10:16The one hearing you, hears me; and the one disregarding you, disregards me; and the one disregarding me, disregards the one having sent me.

10:17And the seventy returned with joy, saying, O Lord, even the demons are submitted to us in your name.

10:18And he said to them, I viewed Satan as lightning falling from out of the heaven.

10:19Behold, I give to you the authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy; and nothing in any way shall injure you.

10:20Furthermore in this rejoice not! that the spirits submit to you. But you rejoice! that your names are written in the heavens.

10:21In the same hour Jesus exulted in the spirit, and said, I make acknowledgment to you, O father, O Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that you concealed these things from the wise and experts, and uncovered them to simple ones; Yes, O father, for thus it was benevolent before you.

10:22And turning to the disciples he said, All things were delivered up to me by my father; and no one knows who is the son, except the father, and who is the father, except the son, and to whom ever the son wants to reveal.

10:23And having turned to the disciples in private he said, Blessed are the eyes, the ones seeing what you see.

10:24For I say to you, that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see, and saw not; and to hear what you hear, and heard not.

10:25And behold, a certain legal expert rose up putting him to test, and saying, Teacher, what having done, shall I inherit eternal life?

10:26And he said to him, In the law, what has been written? How do you read?

10:27And answering he said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your thought, and your neighbor as yourself.

10:28And he said to him, Rightly you answered; do this and you shall live!

10:29But he wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor?

10:30And undertaking, Jesus said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem unto Jericho, and fell among robbers, the ones who both having stripped him, and having placed wounds upon him, went forth leaving him half-dead happening by chance.

10:31And by chance a certain priest went down by that way; and beholding him, he passed by on the other side.

10:32And in like manner also a Levite, being at the place, having come and beholding, passed by on the other side.

10:33But a certain Samaritan, traveling, came by him; and beholding him, he was moved with compassion.

10:34And having come forward, he bound his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and having set him upon his own beast, he led him unto an inn, and took care of him.

10:35And on the next morning, having come forth, casting down two denarii, he gave them to the inn-keeper, and said to him, Take care of him! and whatsoever you should spend besides, I in my returning back will repay to you.

10:36Which then of these three seems to you to have been the neighbor of the one having fallen among the robbers?

10:37And he said, The one having mercy with him. Jesus said then to him, Go, and you do in like manner!

10:38And it came to pass in their going, that he entered into a certain town. And a certain woman, by name Martha, welcomed him into her house.

10:39And thus there was a sister being called Mary, who also having sat by the feet of Jesus, heard his word.

10:40But Martha was distracted about much service, and having stood by, she said, O Lord, is it no care to you that my sister left me alone to serve? Speak then to her that she should aid me!

10:41And answering Jesus said to her, Martha, Martha, you are anxious and turbulent concerning many things.

10:42But there is one need, and Mary chose the good portion, which shall not be removed from her.
