Joshua 15
15:1And the boundaries of the tribe of Judah were according to their peoples; from the borders of Edom from the wilderness of Zin to the south unto Kadesh.
15:2And their borders were from the south unto a part of the salty sea from the ridge bearing to the south.
15:3And it travels over before the ascent leading to Acrabbim, and goes around Zin, and ascends from the south upon Kadesh Barnea, and it goes forth to Hezron, and ascends into Adar, and it marches around by the descent of Kadesh.
15:4And it goes forth upon Azmon, and it passes out unto the rushing stream of Egypt. And his outer reaches will be of the borders at the sea. This is their borders from the south.
15:5And the borders from the east are all the salty sea, unto part of the Jordan; and their borders by the north are from the ridge of the sea, and from the part of the Jordan.
15:6The borders mount upon Beth-hoglah, and go near from the north unto Beth-arabah. And it ascends unto the borders at the stone of Bohan of the son of Reuben.
15:7And the borders ascend unto Debir of the ravine of Achor, and according to the north it goes down to Gilgal, which is before the entrance approach of Adummim, which is towards the south in the ravine. And passes out the border unto the water of the spring of sun. And his outer reaches will be the spring of Rogel.
15:8And the borders ascend unto the ravine of the son of Hinnom at the back of Jebus from the south, this is Jerusalem. And the borders pass out unto the top of the mountain which is by the face of the ravine of Hinnom towards the west, which is by part of the land of Rephaim towards the north.
15:9And the border passes out through from the top of the mountain at the spring of the water of Nephtoah; and it passes out unto the towns of mount Ephron; and the border leads unto Baalah -- this is the city Jearim.
15:10And the border went around from Baalah unto west, and shall go by unto mount Seir, and shall go by unto the back of the city Jearim from the north -- this is Chesalon, and it shall go down to the city of the sun, and shall go by to the south.
15:11And the border shall pass out at the back of Ekron towards the north; and the borders shall pass out into Shicron, and shall go by the mount of the land of Baalah, and pass out at Jebneel; and the outer reaches will be the borders at the sea. And their borders from the west -- the great sea shall define the bounds.
15:12These are the borders of the sons of Judah round about according to their peoples.
15:13And to Caleb son of Jephunneh he gave a portion in the midst of the sons of Judah according to the order of God. And Joshua gave to him the city Arba, the mother-city of Anak -- this is Hebron.
15:14And Caleb son of Jephunneh utterly destroyed from there the three sons of Anak -- Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, offspring of the Anak.
15:15And Caleb ascended from there upon the ones dwelling in Debir; and the name Debir was formerly City of Letters.
15:16And Caleb said, Who ever should take the City of Letters, and should dominate it, I will give to him Achsah my daughter for a wife.
15:17And Othniel son of Kenaz the younger brother of Caleb took it. And he gave to him Achsah his daughter to him for a wife.
15:18And it came to pass in her going forth, that she advised him, saying, I will ask my father for a field; and she yelled from the donkey. And Caleb said, What is it with you?
15:19And she said to him, Give a blessing to me! for you have appointed me for the land of the Negev. Give to me Golath-maim. And Caleb gave her Golath-maim the upper part, and Golath the part below.
15:20This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Judah according to their peoples.
15:21And their cities became foremost cities of the tribe of the sons of Judah, upon the borders of Edom, by the wilderness Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,
15:22and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
15:23and Kadesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
15:24Ziph, and Telem Bealath,
15:25Hazor the new, and the cities of Hezron -- this is Hazor.
15:26Aman, and Shema, and Moladah,
15:27and Hazar-shual, and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet.
15:28and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah
15:29and Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,
15:30and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,
15:31and Ziglag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,
15:32and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon; all the twenty-nine cities and their towns.
15:33In the plain, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,
15:34and Zanoah, and En-gannim, Tapphuah, and Enam,
15:35and Jarmuth, and Adullam, and Socoh, and Azekah,
15:36and Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, its properties -- fourteen cities and their towns;
15:37Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,
15:38and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,
15:39and Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
15:40and Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,
15:41and Gederoth, and Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities and their towns;
15:42Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
15:43and Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
15:44and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities and their towns;
15:45Ekron, and her towns, and her properties.
15:46From Ekron and unto the sea, Jemnath and all as much as are neighboring Ashdod, and their towns.
15:47Ashdod and her towns, and her properties; Gaza and her towns, and her properties, unto the rushing stream of Egypt, and the great sea separates.
15:48And in the mountainous area, Shamir, and Jatir, and Socoh,
15:49and Dannah, and the city of Letters, this is Debir;
15:50and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,
15:51and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities, and their towns;
15:52Arab, and Rumah, and Eshean,
15:53and Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,
15:54and Humtah, and the city Arba -- this is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities and their properties;
15:55Maon, and Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,
15:56and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,
15:57Cain, and Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities and their towns;
15:58Halhul, and Beth-zur, and Gedor,
15:59and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities, and their towns;
15:60Kirjath-baal -- this is the city Jearim, and Rabbah; two cities and their properties;
15:61In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, and Middin, and Secacah,
15:62and Nibshan, and the cities of the of Salts, and En-gedi; six cities and their towns.
15:63And the Jebusite dwelt in Jerusalem, and the sons of Judah were not able to destroy them; and the Jebusites dwelt with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem until this day.
