John 9
9:1And passing on, he beheld a man blind from birth.
9:2And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, Who sinned, this one or his parents, that he was born blind?
9:3Jesus answered, Neither this one sinned, nor his parents; but that should be made manifest the works of God in him.
9:4It is necessary to work the works of the one sending me forth, while it is day; there comes the night when no one is able to work.
9:5Whenever I should be in the world, I am the light of the world.
9:6These things having said, he spit on the ground and he made mud from out of the spittle, and he smeared the mud upon the eyes of the blind man.
9:7And he said to him, Go wash in the pool of Siloam! which is translated, Being sent. He went forth then and washed, and came seeing.
9:8Then the neighbors, and the ones viewing him prior, knowing that he was blind, said, Is not this the one sitting down and begging?
9:9Others said that, This one is he. And others that, He is likened to him. That one said that, I am he.
9:10They said then to him, How were your eyes opened?
9:11That one answered and said, A man being called Jesus made mud, and smeared it upon my eyes, and said to me, Go unto the pool of Siloam, and wash! And going forth and washing, I gained sight.
9:12They said then to him, Where is that one? He says, I know not.
9:13They led him to the Pharisees -- the one at one time blind.
9:14And it was the Sabbath when Jesus made the mud, and opened his eyes.
9:15Then again the Pharisees asked him also how he gained sight. And he said to them, He placed mud to me upon the eyes, and I washed, and I see.
9:16Said then one from the Pharisees, This man is not from God, for the Sabbath he did not give heed to. Others said, How is a man a sinner able to do such signs? And a split was among them.
9:17They say then to the blind man again, You, what say you concerning him, for he opened your eyes? And he said that, He is a prophet.
9:18The Jews did not believe then concerning him, that he was blind, and gained sight, until whenever his parents spoke up, of the one gaining sight.
9:19And they asked them saying, Is this your son, whom you say that he was born blind? How then just now does he see?
9:20His parents answered to them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind.
9:21But how he now sees, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know. He has age; ask him! he shall speak for himself.
9:22These things his parents said, for they feared the Jews; for already the Jews agreed, that if anyone should acknowledge him as Christ, he should be removed from the synagogue.
9:23On account of this his parents said that, He has age; ask him!
9:24They called then for a second time the man who was blind, and said to him, Give glory to God! we know that this man is a sinner.
9:25Then that one answered and said, If he is a sinner I know not. One thing I know, that being blind, now I see.
9:26And they said to him again, What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?
9:27He answered to them, I told you already, and you heard not. Why again do you want to hear? Do also you want to become his disciples?
9:28Then they reviled him, and said, You are that one's disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.
9:29We know that to Moses God has spoken; but this one we do not know from what place he is.
9:30The man answered and said to them, For this is wonderful, that you do not know from where he is, and he opened my eyes.
9:31And we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone might be godly and should do his will this one he hears.
9:32From out of the eon it was not heard that anyone opened the eyes of one being born blind.
9:33Unless this one was from God, he would not be able to do anything.
9:34They answered and said to him, In sin you were entirely born, and you teach us? And they cast him outside.
9:35Jesus heard that they cast him outside; and having found him, he said to him, Do you believe in the son of God?
9:36That one answered and said, And who is he, O Lord, that I should believe in him?
9:37And Jesus said to him, Both you see him and the one speaking with you is that one.
9:38And he said, I believe, O Lord. And he did obeisance to him.
9:39And Jesus said, For judgment I came into this world, that the ones not seeing shall see; and the ones seeing should become blind.
9:40And some of these Pharisees heard, the ones being with him. And they said to him, And not we, are we blind?
9:41Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would not have sin; but now you say that, We see; therefore your sin remains.
