John 7

7:1And Jesus was walking with these in Galilee, for he did not want to walk in Judea, for the Jews sought to kill him.

7:2And it was near the holiday of the Jews -- the one of pitching tents.

7:3Then his brothers said to him, Cross over from here, and go into Judea! that also your disciples should view your works which you do.

7:4For no one does anything in secret, and he himself seeks to be in an open manner. If these things you do, manifest yourself to the world!

7:5For neither his brothers believed in him.

7:6Then says Jesus to them, My time is not yet at hand; but your time at all times is ready.

7:7The world is not able to detest you; but me it detests, for I testify concerning it, that its works are evil.

7:8You ascend unto this holiday feast! I not yet ascend unto this holiday feast, for my time has not yet been fulfilled.

7:9And these things having said to them, he stayed in Galilee.

7:10But as his brothers ascended, then also he ascended unto the holiday feast, not openly, but as in secret.

7:11Then the Jews sought him during the holiday feast, and they said, Where is that one?

7:12And there was much grumbling concerning him among the multitudes. Some said that, He is good. Others said, No, but he misleads the multitude!

7:13No one however in an open manner spoke concerning him for fear of the Jews.

7:14But already being in the middle of the holiday, Jesus ascended into the temple, and was teaching.

7:15And the Jews marvelled, saying, How did this one know letters, not having learned?

7:16Jesus answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but the one having sent me.

7:17If anyone should want to do his will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is of God, or I speak from myself.

7:18The one speaking from himself, seeks his own glory; but the one seeking the glory of the one having sent him, this one is true, and unrighteousness is not in him.

7:19Has not Moses given you the law, and not one of you practices the law? Why do you seek to kill me?

7:20The multitude answered and said, You have a demon; who seeks to kill you?

7:21Jesus answered and said to them, One work I did, and you all marvel.

7:22On account of this Moses has given to you circumcision, not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers; and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.

7:23If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, that the law of Moses should not be untied, why are you incensed with me that entirely I made a man in health on the Sabbath?

7:24Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment!

7:25Said then some of the ones of Jerusalem, Is this not whom they seek to kill?

7:26And you see! he speaks in an open manner, and they say nothing to him; perhaps truly the rulers know that this is truly the Christ.

7:27But this we know from what place he is; but the Christ whenever he should come, no one knows from what place he is.

7:28Jesus then cried out in the temple teaching, and saying, And me you have known, and you have known from what place I am. And of myself I have not come, but the one sending me is true, whom you know not.

7:29I have known him, for from him I am, and that one sent me.

7:30They were seeking then to lay hold of him; and no one put their hand upon him, for his hour had not yet come.

7:31But many from out of the multitude believed in him, and said that, The Christ, whenever he should come, will he do more signs than these which this one did?

7:32The Pharisees heard of the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers that they should lay hold of him.

7:33Jesus said then to them, Still a little time I am with you, and I go away to the one having sent me.

7:34You shall seek me, and shall not find; and where I am, you are not able to come.

7:35The Jews said then to themselves, Where is this one about to go that we shall not find him? Is he about to go unto the dispersion of the Greeks, and to teach the Greeks?

7:36What is this word which he said, You shall seek me, and shall not find; and, Where I am, you are not able to come?

7:37And during the last day, the great one of the holiday feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, If anyone should thirst, come to me and drink!

7:38The one believing in me, as the scripture said, From out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

7:39But this he said concerning the spirit, of which the ones believing in him were about to receive; for there was not yet holy spirit, for Jesus was not yet glorified.

7:40Many then from out of the multitude, hearing the word, said, This is truly the prophet.

7:41Others said, This is the Christ. And others said, Does the Christ come from out of Galilee?

7:42Said not the scripture that from out of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, of the town where David was from, the Christ comes?

7:43A split then among the multitude took place because of him.

7:44But some of them wanted to lay hold of him, but no one put the hands upon him.

7:45Came then the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees, and those said to them, For why did you not bring him?

7:46The officers answered, At no time thus spoke a man as this man.

7:47The Pharisees responded then to them, Have you also been misled?

7:48Did any of the rulers believe in him, or of the Pharisees?

7:49But this multitude, the one not knowing the law, they are accursed.

7:50Nicodemus says to them, (the one coming by night to him, being one of them),

7:51Does our law judge the man, if it not be heard from him prior, and made known what he does?

7:52They answered and said to him, Are you also from out of Galilee? Search and see! that a prophet arises not from out of Galilee.

7:53And each went unto his house.
