John 3

3:1And there was a man of the Pharisees, Nicodemus was the name to him, a ruler of the Jews.

3:2This one came to Jesus by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that from God you have come as a teacher; for no one is able to do these signs which you do, unless God should be with him.

3:3Jesus responded and said to him, Amen, amen, I say to you, Unless one should be born from above, he is not able to behold the kingdom of God.

3:4Nicodemus says to him, How is a man able to be born being aged? Is he able to enter into the belly of his mother a second time, and be born?

3:5Jesus answered, Amen, amen, I say to you, Unless one should be born of water and spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.

3:6The one being born of the flesh is flesh; and the one being born of the spirit is spirit.

3:7You should not wonder that I said to you, It is necessary for you to be born from above.

3:8The wind blows where it wants, and its sound you hear, but you know not from what place it comes, and where it goes; so is every one being born of the spirit.

3:9Nicodemus answered and said to him, How is it possible for these things to be?

3:10Jesus answered and said to him, You are the teacher of Israel, and these things you know not?

3:11Amen, amen, I say to you that, What we know we speak, and what we have seen we witness; and our witness you do not receive.

3:12If the earthly things I told to you, and you do not believe, how then if I should speak to you the heavenly things, will you believe?

3:13And no one has ascended into the heaven, except the one from out of the heaven descending -- the son of man, the one being in the heaven.

3:14And as Moses raised up high the serpent in the wilderness, so is it necessary for the son of man to be raised up high;

3:15that every one believing in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

3:16For thus God loved the world, so that he gave his only born son, that every one trusting in him, should not perish, but should have eternal life.

3:17For God did not send his son into the world that he should judge the world, but that the world should be delivered by him.

3:18The one trusting in him is not judged; but the one not trusting already has been judged, for he trusts not in the name of the only born son of God.

3:19And this is the judgment -- that the light has come into the world, and men loved more the darkness than the light; for their works were evil.

3:20For every one acting heedlessly detests the light, and does not come to the light, that his works should not be reproved.

3:21But the one observing the truth comes to the light, that his works should be made manifest, that in God they are working.

3:22After these things Jesus came and his disciples unto the Judean land; and there he spent time with them and was immersing.

3:23And also John was immersing in Aenon near Salim, for there was much water there; and they were arriving and being immersed.

3:24For not yet was John thrown into the prison.

3:25Became then an inquiry from the disciples of John with the Jews concerning cleansing.

3:26And they came to John, and they said to him, Rabbi, the one who was with you on the other side of the Jordan, in whom you witnessed -- See! this one immerses and all come to him.

3:27John answered and said, Man is not able to receive anything, unless it should be given to him from the heaven.

3:28You yourselves witness to me that I said, I am not the Christ; but that I am one being sent before that one.

3:29The one having the bride is the groom; and the friend of the groom, the one standing and hearing him, with joy rejoices because of the voice of the groom. This then my joy is fulfilled.

3:30That one must grow, but me to lessen.

3:31The one coming from above is above all. The one being from the earth, is of the earth, and of the earth he speaks. The one coming from the heaven is above all,

3:32and what he has seen and heard, this one witnesses; and his witness no one receives.

3:33The one receiving of his witness, set a seal that God is true;

3:34for the one whom God sent, speaks the sayings of God; for not by measure does God give the spirit.

3:35The father loves the son, and all things he has put in his hand.

3:36The one trusting in the son has eternal life; but the one resisting the son shall not see the life, but the anger of God remains upon him.
