John 14

14:1Let not your heart be disturbed! Trust in God, and trust in me!

14:2In the residence of my father there are many abodes; but if not, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

14:3And whenever I should go and should prepare for you a place, again I will come and take you to myself; that where I am, you should be also.

14:4And where I go you know, and the way you know.

14:5Thomas says to him, O Lord, we know not where you go; and how are we able to know the way?

14:6Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the father unless through me.

14:7If you had known me, also you would have known my father; and from now on you know him and you have seen him.

14:8Philip says to him, O Lord, show to us the father! and it suffices to us.

14:9Jesus says to him, So great a time I am with you, and you do not know me, Philip? The one seeing me has seen the father; and how do you say, Show us the father?

14:10Do you not believe that I am in the father, and the father is in me? The words which I speak to you, I speak not from myself; but the father, the one abiding in me, he does the works.

14:11Trust me! that I am in the father, and the father is in me. But if not, because of the works themselves believe me!

14:12Amen, amen, I say to you, The one believing in me, the works which I do, even that one shall do; and greater than these he shall do; for I go to my father.

14:13And whatever you should ask in my name, this I shall do, that the father should be glorified in the son.

14:14If you should ask anything in my name, I shall do it.

14:15If you should love me, give heed to my commandments!

14:16And I will ask the father, and he shall give to you another comforter, that he should abide with you into the eon.

14:17The spirit of truth; whom the world is not able to receive, for it does not contemplate it, nor knows it. But you know it, for it abides with you, and in you it will be.

14:18I will not leave you orphans; I am coming to you.

14:19Yet a little while and the world no longer views me, but you view me, for I live, and you shall live.

14:20In that day you shall know that I am in my father, and you in me, and I in you.

14:21The one having my commandments, and giving heed to them, that one is the one loving me; and the one loving me shall be loved by my father; and I will love him, and I will reveal myself to him.

14:22Judas says to him (not Iscariot), O Lord, what has taken place that to us you are about to reveal yourself, and not to the world?

14:23Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves me, he will give heed to my word, and my father will love him, and to him we will come, and we will make an abode with him.

14:24The one not loving me, does not give heed to my words; and the word which you hear is not mine, but the father having sent me.

14:25These things I have spoken to you, abiding with you.

14:26But the comforter, the holy spirit, whom the father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things, and will remind you all things which I said to you.

14:27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be disturbed, nor be timid!

14:28You heard that I said to you, I go away, and I come to you. If you loved me, you would have rejoiced that I said, I go to the father, for my father is greater than me.

14:29And now I have told it to you before it takes place, that whenever it happens, you should believe.

14:30No longer will I speak many things with you; for the one of the world comes -- the ruler; and with me he does not have one thing.

14:31But that the world should know that I love the father; and as the father gave charge to me, so I do. Arise! we should lead on from here.
