Job 5

5:1But call, if any one will hearken to you; or if you shall see any holy angels.

5:2For even anger does away with a fool, and zeal puts to death one having wandered.

5:3And I have seen fools laying root; and I cursed their attractiveness immediately.

5:4May their sons be at a distance from safety, and they shall be crushed at the doors of lesser men, and there shall not be one rescuing.

5:5For those things which they harvested, one hungering shall eat; but they shall be carried to ones armed; may their strength be siphoned off.

5:6For toil can not come forth out of the earth, nor shall misery sprout up from the mountains.

5:7But a man is born to toil, and the young eagles to fly the high places;

5:8but nevertheless I shall beseech of the lord, and I shall call upon the lord the master of all,

5:9the one doing great things, and untraceable, honorable things also, and extraordinary, which there is no number;

5:10the one giving rain upon the earth, sending water upon the places under heaven;

5:11the one appointing the humble unto the height, and raising up the ones perishing,

5:12effacing counsels of clever ones, that in no way should their hands perform true;

5:13the one overtaking the wise with the intellect; and the counsel of the crafty ones he amazes.

5:14By day darkness shall meet them, and at midday may they grope equally as at night.

5:15And may they perish in war; and may the powerless come forth from out of the hand of the mighty one.

5:16And may there be hope to the poor; but may the mouth of the unjust be obstructed.

5:17And blessed is the man whom the lord reproved, and does not refuse the admonition of the almighty.

5:18For he causes one to ache, and again he restores; he smites, and his hands heal.

5:19Six times he rescues you from out of your distresses, and in the seventh time in no way will he touch you for bad.

5:20In famine, he will rescue you from death, and in war he will untie you from out of the hand of iron.

5:21He shall hide you from the whip of the tongue, and in no way shall you be fearful from the coming evils.

5:22The unjust and lawless you shall ridicule, and from wild beasts in no way shall you be fearful;

5:23for the beasts of the wild shall make peace with you.

5:24Then you shall know that your house shall be at peace; and he shall visit your beauty, and in no way should it have sinned.

5:25And you shall know that your seed shall be many, and your progeny will be as the abundant herbage of the field.

5:26And you shall come unto the grave as grain in season, according to the time of harvesting; or as a heap of the threshing-floor according to the hour of its being collected.

5:27Behold, these things thus we tracked out, these things are what we have heard; but you, know in yourself if you acted in anything!
