Isaiah 3

3:1Behold, indeed the master, the lord of Hosts, he shall remove from Jerusalem and from Judea the prevailing man and prevailing woman; the strength of bread and the strength of water;

3:2the giant and the one prevailing, and a man warrior, and magistrate, and prophet, and thinker, and old man,

3:3and commander of fifty, and wonderful counselor, and wise architect, and discerning listener.

3:4And I will set young men as their rulers; and mockers will lord over them.

3:5And the people will be downcast; man against man, even a man will be against his neighbor; the boy will strike against the old man; the one without honor against the important.

3:6For a man shall take hold of his brother, or a member of the family of his father, saying, You have a garment, you become our chief; and let my food needs be under you!

3:7And answering in that day, he will say, I will not be your chief, for there is no bread in my house, nor a garment; I will not be a chief of this people.

3:8For Jerusalem is forsaken, and Judea is cast down, and their tongues speak with lawlessness the things against the lord, resisting persuasion.

3:9Because now their glory was abased, and the shame of their face withstood them, and they announced their sin as Sodom, and revealed it. Woe to their soul, because they consulted wicked counsel against themselves;

3:10having said, We should bind the just, for he is inconvenient to us; therefore the produce of their works they shall eat.

3:11Woe to the lawless one; evils according to the works of his hands shall come to pass against him.

3:12O my people, your exactors glean you, and the ones exacting lord over you; O my people, the ones declaring you blessed mislead you, and they disturb the roads of your feet.

3:13But now the lord will place in judgment, and will stand his people in judgment.

3:14The lord himself shall come for judgment with the elders of the people, and with his rulers. But you, why did you set on fire my vineyard, and the seizure of the poor is in your houses?

3:15Why do you wrong my people, and disgrace the face of the poor, says the lord, the Lord of the militaries?

3:16Thus says the lord, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and they go with a high neck, and with the beckon of the eyes, and their goings with their feet together, dragging their inner garments, and their feet playing together;

3:17therefore the lord will abase the ruling daughters of Zion; and the lord will uncover their condition.

3:18In that day even the lord will remove the glory of their clothes, and the fringes, and the crescents,

3:19and the necklace, and the ornament of their face,

3:20and the array of the ornament of glory, and the armlets, and the bracelets, and the wreaths, and the rings, and the right armbands,

3:21and the ear-rings, and the objects edged with purple, and the purple ornamentations,

3:22and the cloths for the house, and the transparencies of Lakonika,

3:23and the fine linens, and the ones of blue, and scarlet, and the linen being interwoven with gold and blue, and the lightweight coverings for divans.

3:24And there will be a cloud of dust instead of an agreeable scent; and instead of a belt, you shall tie around with a rough cord; and instead of the gold ornament for the head, you shall have baldness on account of your works; and instead of the inner garment of purple ornamentation, you shall gird on sackcloth.

3:25And your best son whom you love shall fall by the sword; and your strong ones shall fall by the sword, and they shall be abased.

3:26And the cases of your ornamentation shall mourn; and you shall be left behind alone; and into the earth you shall be dashed.
