Hebrews 7
7:1For this Melchisedek, king of Salem, priest of God the highest, the one having met with Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and having blessed him,
7:2to whom also Abraham portioned a tenth of all, first indeed being translated king of righteousness, and thereupon also king of Salem, which is king of peace;
7:3fatherless, motherless, of unknown genealogy, neither beginning of days, nor having an end of life, and taking an exact image to the son of God, abides a priest for perpetuity.
7:4And view how great this one was, to whom Abraham the patriarch gave even a tenth of the choice parts.
7:5And indeed the ones of the sons of Levi, receiving the priesthood, have a commandment to tithe the people according to the law, that is to say, the ones of their brethren, though they are ones having come forth from out of the loin of Abraham.
7:6But the one not tracing descent from them received a tenth from Abraham, and has blessed the one having the promises.
7:7But separate from all dispute, the lesser is blessed by the better.
7:8And here indeed men die who receive tenths, but there receives one witnessed of that he lives.
7:9And, as literally to speak, through Abraham even Levi the one receiving tenths pays a tenth.
7:10For he was still in the loin of the father when Melchisedek met with him.
7:11If indeed then perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for the people established law upon it,) what still need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchisedek, and not to be named according to the order of Aaron?
7:12For the priesthood being transposed, from necessity also a transposition of law takes place.
7:13For of whom are said these things, partakes of another tribe, from which no one has given attention to the altar.
7:14For it is exposed to view that our Lord has risen from out of Judah, for which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
7:15And more extra still it is quite evident, since according to the likeness of Melchisedek another priest arises,
7:16who not according to the law of fleshly commandment exists, but according to the power of an indissoluble life.
7:17For he testifies, that, You are a priest into the eon according to the order of Melchisedek.
7:18For indeed an annulment of the commandment before takes place because of its weak and unprofitable state;
7:19for the law perfected nothing, but there is the further introduction of a better hope through which we approach to God.
7:20And according to as much as not separate from the swearing of an oath
7:21(for indeed the ones separate from swearing of an oath are become priests, but the one with swearing of an oath through the saying as to him, The Lord swore by an oath, and will not repent; you are a priest into the eon according to the order of Melchisedek,)
7:22by so much of a better covenant Jesus has become surety.
7:23And indeed, there are more priests being, on account of death restrained from remaining;
7:24but he, because of his abiding into the eon, has the inviolable priesthood.
7:25From where he is able even to deliver totally the ones coming forward through him to God, at all times living to intercede for them.
7:26For such a chief priest becomes us -- sacred, guileless, undefiled, being separated from sinners, and becoming higher than the heavens;
7:27who has not had a daily necessity, as the chief priests, prior to offer sacrifices for their own sins, and thereupon for the sins of the people; for this he did once for all, having offered himself.
7:28For the law ordains men chief priests, ones having weakness; but the word of the swearing of an oath which is after the law has perfected a son into the eon.
