Daniel 3

3:1Nebuchadnezzar the king made a gold image. Its height -- sixty cubits, its breadth -- six cubits, and he stationed it in the plain of Dura, in the region of Babylon.

3:2And he sent to gather together the supreme leaders, and the commandants, and the toparchs, leaders, and sovereigns, and the ones in authorities, and all the rulers of the regions, to come unto the holidays of dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king stationed.

3:3And gathered together the toparchs, supreme leaders, commandants, leaders, sovereigns, great ones, the ones in authorities, and all the rulers of the regions, to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king stationed. And they stood before the image which Nebuchadnezzar stationed.

3:4And the herald yelled in strength, To you it is spoken, O nations, peoples, tribes, languages,

3:5in which ever hour you should hear a sound of a trumpet, even flute, and harp, even sambuke and psaltery, and every harmony of sound of kinds of music -- falling, you shall do obeisance to the image of gold which Nebuchadnezzar the king stationed.

3:6And who ever should not fall to do obeisance, in that same hour they shall be put into the burning furnace of fire.

3:7And it came to pass when the peoples heard the sound of the trumpet, even flute and harp, even sambuke and psaltery, and every kind of music, falling down the peoples, tribes, languages, did obeisance to the image of gold which Nebuchadnezzar the king stationed.

3:8Then Chaldean men came forward, and they accused the Jews. And undertaking, they said to king Nebuchadnezzar,

3:9O king, live into the eons!

3:10You O king established a decree, Every man who ever should hear the sound of the trumpet, even flute and harp, even sambuke and psaltery, and harmony of sound, and every kind of music,

3:11and should not fall to do obeisance to the image in gold, shall be put into the burning furnace of fire.

3:12There are men Jews whom you placed over the works of the region of Babylon -- Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego. These men obeyed not, O king, your decree, and your gods they serve not, and to the image of gold which you stationed they do not do obeisance to.

3:13Then Nebuchadnezzar in rage and anger said to lead in Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. And they led them before the king.

3:14And Nebuchadnezzar responded and said to them, Is it truly, Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego, to my gods you serve not, and to the image in gold which I stationed, you do not do obeisance to?

3:15Now then if it suffices readily that as whenever you should hear the sound of the trumpet, also flute and harp, also sambuke and psaltery, and harmony of sound, and every kind of music, falling you should do obeisance to the image which I made -- good. And if you should not do obeisance this hour, you shall be put into the burning furnace of fire; and who is God who shall rescue you from out of my hands?

3:16And answered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, saying to king Nebuchadnezzar, We have no need concerning this matter to answer to you.

3:17For our God in the heavens in whom we serve is able to rescue us from out of the burning furnace of fire. And from out of your hands, O king, he shall rescue us.

3:18But if not, let it be made known to you, O king! that your gods we will not serve, and to the golden image which you stationed, we will not do obeisance to.

3:19Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled of rage, and the appearance of his face changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. And he said to burn the furnace seven-fold until which it should burn to the end.

3:20And he told strong men of strength shackling Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, to cast them into the burning furnace fire.

3:21Then those men were shackled with their pantaloons, and tiaras, and leggings, and their garments. And they were thrown into the midst of the burning furnace of fire,

3:22since the saying of the king excelled, and the furnace burned away over even extra seven-fold.

3:23And these three -- Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell into the midst of the burning furnace of fire, being shackled.

3:24And Nebuchadnezzar heard their praising. And he wondered, and rose up in haste, and said to his great men, Was it not three men we threw into the midst of the fire being shackled? And they said to the king, Truly, O king.

3:25And the king said, Here, I see four men being loose and walking in the midst of the fire, and there is no corruption to them, and the vision of the fourth is likened to son of God.

3:26Then Nebuchadnezzar came forward to the door of the burning furnace of fire, and he said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, O servants of God the highest, come forth and come! And came forth Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego from out of the midst of the fire.

3:27And the satraps were brought together, and the commandants, and the toparchs, and the mighty ones of the king. And they viewed the men, for the fire did not dominate over their body, and the hair of their head was not ablaze, and their pantaloons did not change, and the scent of fire was not on them.

3:28And the king did obeisance before them to the lord. And Nebuchadnezzar the king responded, and he said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who sent his angel, and rescued his servants, for they relied upon him. And the word of the king they changed, and they delivered up their bodies unto fire so that they should not serve nor do obeisance to any god except their God.

3:29And I display a decree, Every people, tribe, language, which ever should speak blasphemy against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego, shall be for destruction, and their houses for ravaging, in so far as there is no other God who shall be able to rescue thus.

3:30Then the king prospered Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego in the region of Babylon.
