2 Chronicles 26
26:1And all the people of the land took Uzziah, and he was a son sixteen years old, and they gave him reign in place of his father Amaziah.
26:2He built Eloth; he returned it to Judah after the king slept with his fathers.
26:3Uzziah was a son being sixteen years old in his taking reign. And fifty and two years he reigned in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Jecoliah, from Jerusalem.
26:4And he did upright before the lord, according to all as much as Amaziah his father did.
26:5And he was seeking after the lord in the days of Zechariah, the one perceiving in a vision of God. And in the days in which he sought after the lord, the lord God prospered him.
26:6And he went forth and waged war against the Philistines, and tore down the walls of Gath, and the walls of Jabneh, and the walls of Ashdod. And he built cities in Ashdod, and among the Philistines.
26:7And the lord strengthened him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians, the ones dwelling upon the rock, and against the Mehunim.
26:8And the Mehunim gave gifts to Uzziah. And his name was famous unto the entrance of Egypt, for he strengthened himself even higher.
26:9And Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem, both at the gate of the corner, and at the gate of the ravine, and at the corners; and he strengthened them.
26:10And he built towers in the wilderness, and quarried many wells; for much cattle existed to him in Sephela and in the plain -- farmers and vine dressers in the mountains and in Carmel; for he was fond of husbandry.
26:11And there existed to Uzziah a force to make war, and for going forth into battle array. And the count of the numbering of them was through the hand of Jeiel the scribe, and Maaseiah the judge, and through the hand of Hananiah, the substitute for the king.
26:12All the number of the rulers of the families of the mighty ones for war -- two thousand six hundred.
26:13And with them a force for warfare -- three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred. These are the ones preparing for war in a force of strength, to help the king over the opponents.
26:14And Uzziah made preparations for them, giving to all the force shields, and spears, and helmets, and chest plates, and bows, and slings for stones.
26:15And he made in Jerusalem machines being constructed for devices to be upon the towers, and upon the corners, to throw arrows and great stones. And their apparatus was heard about unto a distance, for he was wonderfully helped until of which time he grew strong.
26:16And as he grew strong his heart was raised up to corrupt. And he transgressed against the lord his God, and he entered into the temple of the lord to burn incense upon the altar of the of incenses.
26:17And Azariah the priest entered after him, and with him eighty priests of the lord -- sons of power.
26:18And they stood by against Uzziah the king, and they said to him, It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the lord, but only to the priests, to the sons of Aaron, to the ones having been sanctified to burn incense. Go forth from the sanctuary! for you departed from the lord, for this will not be to you for glory from the lord God.
26:19And Uzziah was enraged. And in his hand was the incense pan to burn incense in the temple. And in his being enraged against the priests, that leprosy rose on his forehead before the priests in the house of the lord upon the altar of the incenses.
26:20And Azariah the foremost priest turned unto him, and the priests, and behold, he was leprous in the forehead. And they hastened him from there, for even he himself hastened to come forth, for the lord reproved him.
26:21And Uzziah the king was leprous until the day of his decease. And he settled in a house for the sick, being leprous, for he was severed from the house of the lord. And Jotham his son was over his kingdom, to judge the people of the land.
26:22And the rest of the words of Uzziah, the first and the last, are written by Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet.
26:23And Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they entombed him with his fathers in the field of the burial place of the kings, for they said, He is leprous. And Jotham his son reigned instead of him.
