1 John 4
4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but distinguish the spirits, if they are of God! for many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
4:2By this you know the spirit of God -- every spirit which acknowledges Jesus Christ having come in flesh is of God.
4:3And every spirit which does not acknowledge Jesus Christ having come in flesh is not of God. And this is the thing of the antichrist, which you heard that it comes, and is now in the world already.
4:4You are of God, sons, and have overcome them; for greater is the one in you, than the one in the world.
4:5They are of the world; because of this they speak of the world, and the world hears them.
4:6We are of God; the one knowing God, hears us; the one who is not of God, does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of the truth and the spirit of the delusion.
4:7Beloved, we should love one another, for love is of God; and every one loving is engendered of God, and knows God.
4:8The one not loving does not know God, for God is love.
4:9In this was made manifest the love of God in us, that his son, the only born, God sent into the world, that we should live through him.
4:10In this is the love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son as an atonement for our sins.
4:11Beloved, if thus God loved us, also we ought to love one another.
4:12No one has seen God at any time. If we should love one another, God abides in us, and his love has been perfected in us.
4:13By this we know that in him we abide, and he in us -- that of the spirit of him he has given to us.
4:14And we have seen, and we bear witness that the father has sent the son as deliverer of the world.
4:15Who ever should acknowledge that Jesus is the son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
4:16And we have known and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love; and the one abiding in the love, abides in God, and God in him.
4:17In this the love has been perfected with us, that we should have confidence in the day of the judgment; for as that one is, also we are in this world.
4:18Fear is not in the love, but the perfect love casts fear outside; for fear holds punishment, and the one fearing has not been made perfect in love.
4:19We love him, for he first loved us.
4:20If anyone should say that, I love God, and should detest his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother, whom he has seen, how is he able to love God whom he has not seen?
4:21And this commandment we have from him, that the one loving God, should love also his brother.
