1 Corinthians 8
8:1And concerning the things sacrificed to idols -- we know that we have all knowledge. The knowledge inflates, but the love builds.
8:2But if anyone thinks to know anything, nothing yet he knows as necessary to know.
8:3But if anyone loves God, this one is known by him.
8:4Concerning the food then of the ones sacrificing to idols -- we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God except one.
8:5For even if indeed there are ones being called gods, whether in heaven, whether upon the earth (as there are many gods, and many lords),
8:6but to us there is one God the father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we by him.
8:7But the knowledge is not in all; but some with conscience of the idol until just now eat as of a thing sacrificed to idols, and their conscience being weak is tainted.
8:8But a food does not stand us before God; for neither if we eat do we abound, nor if we do not eat do we lack.
8:9But take heed, lest perhaps this your authority becomes an occasion for stumbling to the ones being weak!
8:10For if any should behold you, the one having knowledge, reclining in the temple of an idol, shall not his conscience being weak be built up for eating the things sacrificed to idols?
8:11And the brother being weak shall perish over your knowledge, for whom Christ died.
8:12And thus sinning against the brethren, and striking their conscience which is weakened, you sin against Christ.
8:13Therefore if a food causes my brother to stumble, in no way shall I eat meats into the eon, that I should not cause my brother to stumble.
