1 Corinthians 7

7:1But concerning what you wrote to me; It is good for a man to not touch a woman.

7:2But because of the harlotries, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband!

7:3Let the husband render to the wife the good-will owed, and in like manner also the wife to the husband!

7:4The wife does not exercise authority over her own body, but the husband. And in like manner also the husband does not exercise authority over his own body, but the wife.

7:5Do not deprive one another, except for harmony's sake for a time, that you should relax in the fasting and prayer! and again at the same time you should come together, that Satan should not test you because of your intemperance.

7:6But this I say according to allowance, not according to command.

7:7For I want all men to be as even myself; but each has his own favor from God; one so, and another so.

7:8But I say to the unmarried and to the widows; it is good for them if they remain as even I.

7:9But if they do not control themselves, let them marry! For it is better to marry than to be set on fire.

7:10And to the ones being married I exhort, not I, but the Lord, that a wife not separate from a husband.

7:11But if even she should separate, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband! and a man's wife is not to be let go.

7:12And to the rest I say, not the Lord; if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she assents to live with him, he is not to leave her!

7:13And a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he assents to live with her, she is not to leave him!

7:14For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife; and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; since then your children are unclean, but now it is holy.

7:15But if the unbeliever separates, let him be separated! the brother is not enslaved, or the sister in such cases. But in peace God has called us.

7:16For what do you know, O wife, if you shall deliver the husband? Or what do you know, O husband, if you shall deliver the wife?

7:17Except to each as God portioned, each as the Lord called so walk! And so in all the assemblies I set an order.

7:18Who is called while being circumcised, let him not become uncircumcised! Who is called in uncircumcision, let him not be circumcised!

7:19Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is.

7:20Each in the calling in which he was called -- in this let him abide!

7:21A slave being called -- let it not be a care; but if even you are able to be free rather -- use it!

7:22For the slave being called in the Lord is the Lord's freedman. In like manner also the free one being called, is Christ's slave.

7:23With value you were bought; do not become slaves of men!

7:24Each in which he was called, brethren, in this abide with God!

7:25And concerning the virgins, I do not have a command of the Lord, but an opinion I give as one being shown mercy by the Lord to be trustworthy.

7:26I think then this existing is good because of the present necessity, that it is good for a man so to be.

7:27Have you been tied to a wife, do not seek a loosening! Have you been untied from a wife, do not seek a wife!

7:28But if also you should marry, you sinned not; and if the virgin should have married she did not sin; but affliction in the flesh such shall have. But I spare you.

7:29But this I say, brethren, the remaining time is wrapping up, that also the ones having wives, should be as not having.

7:30And the ones weeping, as not weeping; and the ones rejoicing, as not rejoicing; and the ones buying, as not holding possessions.

7:31And the ones dealing in this world, as not abusing it. For the condition of this world passes by.

7:32But I want you to be free from care. The unmarried is anxious for the things of the Lord, how he is pleasing to the Lord;

7:33but the one married is anxious for the things of the world, how he pleases the wife.

7:34The wife and the virgin are assigned a part even. The unmarried is anxious for the things of the Lord, that she might be holy, both in body and in spirit; but she having married is anxious for the things of the world, how she shall please the husband.

7:35But this for your own advantage I speak, not that I should put a noose around you, but be undisturbed to the decent and well-occupied thing with the Lord.

7:36But if anyone thinks to be disgraced over his virgin, if she should be advanced in years, and so it ought to be what he wants to do, he does not sin; let them marry!

7:37But the one who stands settled in the heart, not having necessity, but has authority concerning his own will, and this he has judged in his heart, to give heed to his own virgin, well he does.

7:38So that also the one giving in marriage, does well; and the one not giving in marriage, does better.

7:39A wife is tied by law for as long a time as her husband lives; but if her husband should sleep, she is free to whom she wants to marry, only in the Lord.

7:40But more blessed is she if so she should remain, according to my opinion; but I think I also have spirit of God.
