1 Corinthians 11
11:1Become mimics of me, as even I of Christ!
11:2But I praise you, brethren, that in all things you have remembrance of me. And Hold the traditions as I delivered to you.
11:3But I want you to know, that the Christ is the head of every man; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
11:4Every man praying or prophesying having anything on his head, disgraces his own head.
11:5And every woman praying or prophesying with uncovered head, disgraces her own head; for it is one and the same as having been shaven.
11:6For if a woman be not covered up, also let her be shorn! But if it be shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered up!
11:7For indeed a man ought not to be covered of the head, being an image and glory of God. But a woman is a glory of man.
11:8For not is man of the woman, but the woman of man.
11:9For man was not created on account of the woman, but the woman on account of the man.
11:10Because of this the woman ought to have the authority upon her head on account of the angels.
11:11Furthermore neither is man separate from woman, nor woman separate from man in the Lord.
11:12For as the woman is of the man, so also the man is through the woman; but all things are of God.
11:13Among you yourselves judge! Is it becoming for an uncovered woman to pray to God?
11:14Or does not even nature itself teach you that a man indeed if should have long hair, it is a dishonor to him?
11:15But a woman, if she should have long hair is it a glory to her; for the hair of the head instead of a wrap is given to her.
11:16But if anyone thinks to be contentious, we do not have such a custom, nor the assemblies of God.
11:17But in this exhorting I do not praise you, for you do not come together for the better but for the worse.
11:18For indeed first in your coming together in assembly, I hear of splits existing among you, and partly I believe it.
11:19For must sects even be among you, that the ones approved should become apparent among you?
11:20In your coming together then in the same place, is it not to eat the Lord's supper?
11:21But each first takes his own supper in the eating, and one hungers, and another is intoxicated.
11:22For do you not have houses for the eating and drinking? Or do you disdain the assembly of God, and disgrace the ones not having? What should I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise.
11:23For I took from the Lord what also I delivered up to you, that the Lord Jesus, in the night in which he was delivered up took bread;
11:24and having given thanks he broke it, and said, Take eat, this is my body being broken for you; this do in my remembrance!
11:25Likewise also the cup, after having supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood; this do as often as you should drink in my remembrance!
11:26For as often as you should eat this bread, and should drink this cup, the death of the Lord you announce until of which ever time he should come.
11:27So that who ever should eat this bread or should drink the cup of the Lord unworthily will be liable of the body and blood of the Lord.
11:28But let a man prove himself, and thus let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup!
11:29For the one eating and drinking unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discriminating the body of the Lord.
11:30Because of this many among you are weak and ill, and a fit amount gone to sleep.
11:31For if we examine ourselves we should not be judged.
11:32But being judged by the Lord we are corrected, that we should not be condemned with the world.
11:33So that, my brethren, coming together for the eating, let us look out for one another!
11:34But if anyone hungers, let him eat in his house! that you should not come together for judgment. And the rest whenever I should come I shall set in order.
