Jeremiah 21

21:1The word coming from the lord to Jeremiah, when king Zedekiah sent to him Pashur son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,

21:2You ask the lord for us! for the king of Babylon has set by us; if the lord will do according to all his wonders, and the king shall go forth from us.

21:3And Jeremiah said to them, Thus you shall say to Zedekiah,

21:4Thus says the lord, the God of Israel, Behold, I turn back the weapons of warfare which are in your hands, and by which you wage war with them against the Chaldeans, the ones hemming you in who are outside the wall; and I will gather them into the midst of this city.

21:5And I shall wage war myself against you with a hand being stretched out, and with a fortified arm with rage and great anger.

21:6And I will strike all the ones dwelling in this city, men and the cattle. By a great death even they shall die.

21:7And after these things, thus says the lord, I will deliver up Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, the one surviving in this city from death, and from famine, and from the sword, into the hands of their enemies, of the ones seeking their lives. And they shall cut them in pieces by the mouth of the sword; I will not spare against them, and in no way shall I pity them.

21:8And you shall say to this people, Thus says the lord, Behold, I put before your face the way of life, and the way of death.

21:9The one being settled in this city shall die by the sword and by famine; and the one going forth to join with the Chaldeans, the ones hemming you in, shall live; and his life will be for spoils, he shall live.

21:10For I firmly fixed my face against this city for bad, and not for good, says the lord. Into the hands of the king of Babylon it shall be delivered up, and he shall incinerate it by fire.

21:11O house of the king of Judah, hear the word of the lord!

21:12O house of David, Thus says the lord; Arbitrate judgment in the morning, and straighten out, and rescue the one being torn in pieces from the hand of the one wronging him! so that my anger should not be lit as a fire, and it should be kindled, and there will not be one extinguishing it.

21:13Behold, I am against you, O one dwelling the valley of Sor; the plain country of the ones saying, Who shall terrify us? Or who shall enter to our home?

21:14And I will look about upon you, and I will kindle a fire in her forest. And it shall devour all the things round about her.
