Genesis 25

25:1And Abraham added to take a wife whose name was Keturah.

25:2And she bore to him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

25:3And Jokshan procreated Sheba and Dedan. And sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

25:4And the sons of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.

25:5And Abraham gave all his possessions to Isaac his son.

25:6And to the sons of his concubines Abraham gave gifts. And he sent them from Isaac his son while he was still living towards the east into the land of the east.

25:7And these were the years of the days of the life of Abraham, as many as he lived, a hundred seventy-five years.

25:8And failing, Abraham died in a good old age, an old man and full of days. And he was added to his people.

25:9And Isaac and Ishmael entombed him, his two sons, in the double cave, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;

25:10the field and the cave which Abraham acquired from the sons of Heth. There they entombed Abraham and Sarah his wife.

25:11And it came to pass after the dying of Abraham, God blessed Isaac his son. And Isaac dwelt by the Well of the Vision.

25:12And these are the origins of Ishmael, the son of Abraham, whom Hagar bore (the Egyptian maidservant of Sarah) to Abraham.

25:13And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, according to the names of his generations. First-born of Ishmael, Nebajoth, and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

25:14and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

25:15and Hadar, and Tema, and Jetur, and Naphish, and Kedemah.

25:16These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of them by their tents, and by their properties -- twelve rulers according to their nation.

25:17And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred thirty-seven years; and failing, he died. And he was added to his family.

25:18And he dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, which is against the face of Egypt, unto coming to Assyrian. By the face of all his brethren he dwelt.

25:19And these are the generations of Isaac the son of Abraham.

25:20Abraham procreated Isaac. And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Syrian to himself for wife.

25:21And Isaac beseeched the lord concerning Rebekah his wife, for she was sterile; and his God listened, and Rebekah his wife conceived in the womb.

25:22And the male babies leaped in her. And she said, If thus is about to happen to me, why is this to me? And she went to inquire of the lord.

25:23And the lord said to her, Two nations are in your womb; and two peoples from out of your belly will draw apart. And one people will be superior over another people; and the greater will be a servant to the lesser.

25:24And were fulfilled the days for her to bear. And thus there were twins in her belly.

25:25And came forth the first-born fiery red entirely, and of hairy skin. And she named his name Esau.

25:26And after this came forth his brother, and his hand took hold of the heel of Esau. And she called his name Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah bore them.

25:27And the young grew. And Esau was a man knowing to hunt with hounds -- rugged; but Jacob was a simple man living in a residence.

25:28But Isaac loved Esau, for his hunting food for him. But Rebekah loved Jacob.

25:29And Jacob boiled stew; and Esau came from out of the plains -- failing.

25:30And Esau said to Jacob, Let me taste from this spicy stew for I fail; on account of this his name was called Edom.

25:31And Jacob said to Esau, Give to me today your rights as first-born.

25:32And Esau said, Behold, I am going to come to an end, and what to me are these, the rights of the first-born?

25:33And Jacob said to him, You swear by an oath to me today! And he swore by an oath to him. And Esau gave the rights of the first-born to Jacob.

25:34And Jacob gave to Esau bread and stew of lentils. And he ate and drank, and rising up he set out. And Esau treated as worthless the rights of the first-born.
