Genesis 11

11:3And a man said to his neighbor, Come let us make bricks, and let us bake them in fire. And the brick became to them as stone, and asphalt was their mortar.

11:4And they said, Come let us build to ourselves a city and tower of which the top will be unto the heaven. And let us make to ourselves a name before the being scattered upon the face of all the earth.

11:5And the lord went down to look at the city and the tower, which the sons of men built.

11:6And the lord said, Behold, there is one kind and one lip for all, and this they began to do. The things now shall not fail from them, all as much as they might attempt to do.

11:7Come, and going down, let us confound their language, that they should not each hearken to the voice of the neighbor.

11:8And the lord scattered them from there upon the face of all the earth; and they ceased building the city and the tower.

11:9On account of this the name of it was called Confusion, because there the lord confounded the lips of all the earth, and from there the lord scattered them upon the face of all the earth.
