1 Kings 4

4:1And king Solomon was reigning over Israel.

4:2And these are the rulers, the ones who were with him -- Azariah son of Zadok the priest;

4:3Elihoreph and Ahiah son of Shisha were scribes; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was recorder;

4:4and Benaiah son of Jehoiada was over the force; and Zadok and Abiathar were priests;

4:5and Azariah son of Nathan was over the ones being placed in charge; and Zabud son of Nathan was companion of the king;

4:6and Ahishar was manager; and Adoniram son of Abda was over the tribute.

4:7And to Solomon were twelve being placed over all Israel, to conduct matters for the king and to his house. A month in the year it happened for one to conduct matters.

4:8And these are their names -- Ben-Hur in mount Ephraim.

4:9The son of Dekar in Makaz, and in Shaalbim and Beth-shemesh and Elon unto Beth-hanan.

4:10The son of Hesed in Aruboth, of him was Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher.

4:11All Nephador belonged to the son of Abinadab, Taphath daughter of Solomon was to him for wife.

4:12Baana son of Ahilud to whom was Taanach, and Magiddo, and all the house of Shean, the one by Zartanah below Jezreel, from Beth-shean unto Abel-meholah unto Maeber Jokneam.

4:13The son of Geber in Ramoth Gilead -- of this one were cities of Jair son of Manasseh in Gilead; to this one was a piece of measured out land, Argob in Bashan -- sixty cities, great and walled and bars of brass.

4:14Ahinadab son of Iddo had Mahanaim.

4:15Ahimaaz was in Naphtali, and he took Basmath daughter of Solomon for a wife.

4:16Baanah son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth.

4:17Jehoshaphat son of Paruah was in Issachar.

4:18Shimei son of Elah was in Benjamin.

4:19Geber son of Uri was in the land of Gilead of Sihon of the king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan; and Naseb in the land of Judah was one.

4:20Judah and Israel were exceedingly many, as the sand upon the sea in multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.

4:21And Solomon was ruler in all the kingdoms from the river of the land of the Philistines and unto the border of Egypt. And they were bringing gifts, and they served Solomon all the days of his life.

4:22And these were the necessary things for Solomon. In one day were thirty cors of fine flour, and sixty cors of flour.

4:23Ten choice calves, and twenty grazing oxen, and a hundred sheep, outside of stags and does, and chosen and feeding hens.

4:24For he was ruler in all on the other side of the river, from Tiphsah unto Azzah, in all the kingdoms on the other side of the river. And there was to him peace from all of the parts round about.

4:25And Judah and Israel dwelt being yielded each in his grapevine and under his fig-tree, from Dan and unto Beer-sheba, all the days of Solomon.

4:26And there were to Solomon forty thousand horses for chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

4:27And the ones being placed in charge conducted thus to king Solomon, and all the declarations upon the table of the king, each one in charge of his month -- they did not alter a word.

4:28And the barley and the straw for the horses and the chariots they took unto the place of which ever the king might be, each according to his arrangement.

4:29And the lord gave intellect to Solomon and exceedingly great wisdom, and an increase in heart, as the sand by the sea.

4:30And Solomon multiplied exceedingly over the intellect of all the ancient men, and above all the intelligent ones of Egypt.

4:31And he discerned above all men; and he discerned above Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol. And his name became famous among all the nations round about.

4:32And he spoke three thousand parables. And his odes were five thousand.

4:33And he spoke concerning the timbers from the cedars in Lebanon, and unto the hyssop coming forth from the wall. And he spoke concerning the cattle, and concerning the winged creatures, and concerning the reptiles, and concerning the fishes.

4:34And all the peoples came to him to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And he took gifts from all the kings of the earth, as many as heard his wisdom.
